  1. he's right on about the GL2 and GL3 they are good rods but nothing "special" many other manufacturers make rods just as good- now IMX and GLX is a whole other matter...
  2. I have the KVD model from pass pro- great reel, the one you have has more features being a PT. you will like it

Both- one after the other til I find what works- I like that depth range for each technique
  4. LC here- LV100 on up to the LV500, great baits
  5. it helps to use the lightest rig possible. I really like my curado 101d 7.4oz with my kistler mag 6'6" rod- a smaller reel and lighter rod will definately help but yeah it can tire you out for sure.
  6. x2- I live in Jerkbait Smallmouth country and it is just part of the game- I think it would even be more akward/painful with a spinning rig IMO. I use 100% flouro for suspending baits. 8 to 12lbs-
  7. Why? That Kistler is just as good as any comparable Loomis. The warranties are similar, and Kistler has the best customer service I have ever dealt with. If I was in the market, there is no way I would turn an LTX and a free magnesium down. I looked at a 7' magnesium crankbait rod the other day, and it was sweet. I guarantee you could sell the magnesium very easily if you so choose, but I doubt you would X2- I love my kistler Mag
  8. spend even less and get a daiwa megaforce or exceler- very nice reels
  9. I hate those darn things- at least in my neck of the woods.
  10. I tried this late fall before it got too cold- and OMG what a tactic! Fish it like a jig once it is on the bottom, then HOLD ON :-X I can't wait to use this technique for my 08' tourny trail.
  11. yep, sell them NOW before the entire fishing community figures out that knock offs are being made that are just as good.
  12. answers the questions. 1.) it will hurt you 2.) ebay 3.) as many methods possible- paypal is easiest but most expensive to use- they take a percentage. 4.) trust everyone just require payment before you ship. The trust is more on the buyers end.
  13. those things look awesome- I would have to rethink everything about my strategy in order to fish one- this is an intirely different pattern than what I am used to- may have to give it a shot and broaden my MO.
  14. anything LC honorable mention: Yo-Zuri rattl'n vibe
  15. well you could go to a bicycle shop and get a shimano T-Shirt with your chain derailer LOL ;D
  16. do not DO THIS WITH STRIKE KING 3XX!!! you will end up with a box full of gooo!!! It is like a bad chemical reaction.
  17. I don't think it is of that high importance- then again I have a fuego 2000 7.5oz on my GLX drop shot rod ;D the whole setup weighs less than a can of coke.
  18. I weigh my flap slaps down with lead strips so they suspend- then they catch bigger fish-
  19. varies depends on the situation- don't have one favorite color.
  20. only two good things by storm: wiggle warts and chug bugs
  21. You called it- I am getting 3 just for jerkbaits this spring!!!!
  22. just wait til you get an exceler in your hands- I am a huge critic and own high end gear- I simply could not believe the thing was at that price range.
  23. You can belong to either side: To group A who is ready to shell out the money for what looks to be a "good deal" specially when it comes to new products with absolutely no track record. To group B of skeptical selfish sobs who like to watch the fight from oustide the ring that don 't shell out a penny until group A has shelled the money getting and trying a product with absolutely no track record. Group C thru Z I think Daiwa is gunna revolutionize the low end reel market with the megaforce and exceler reels. It will open up a new Daiwa fan base that otherwise would not own a daiwa because of the high prices.
  24. The V-Rod is a loomis blank made in the US- one of the best shimano rods ever made- a friend of mine has 3 of them.
