  1. MH from 6'6" to 7' has worked really well for me. IMHO you don't need to break the bank with a high end rod for spinnerbaits- they are either on or off this type of bait, sensitivity is not as important as worm/jig rod.
  2. I held one in Sportsmans warehouse and it felt pretty dang smooth for a $60 reel.
  3. I would not get a H powered rod unless I am flipping into the heaviest cover imanginable. Get a MH so you can use it for multiple apps.
  4. thats a good looking bait good luck with it. I will keep my eye out if I see any for you
  5. WOW! I bet it's 2012 when the left hand version is released :-/
  6. Nice- that Bassart is good stuff I really liked how mine turned out
  7. daiwa exceler = $69 retail. $281.00 to spend on a rod ;-)... you could land a GLX on ebay for that.
  8. great rods- I like them especially the crankbait version.
  9. the max is junkola- made out of plastic throughout, will get the job done if you don't fish that often- the Exceler is a far superior peice. Two years ago the exceler would have been a 150 dollar reel.
  10. you are right, no 7:1 in a 100/101D, that would be cool
  11. Tell us more! Compare it to the Curado. Casting, drag, build quality..etc. I think it is as good as the Curado- time will tell on the durability I have no reason to think it wont be solid so far. The drag is not bad plenty strong and adjustable. It is a bit finiky on casting baits less than 3/8oz but it can be done- at the price I would buy two over one curado any day .
  12. I think I am leaning towards the dobyns- they look really sweet. I mainly throw 1/2oz and up to 3/4oz traps.
  13. anything 4" or bigger in your favorite color- I don't think details are that important for flip'n/pitch'n a tube. Color and hook selection to match the tube size are most important.
  14. 1st things 1st, sure its a two peice? If you just bought it then take it back before you break it.
  15. I am in the market for a new trap/lipless/vibration bait rod- what do you suggest (power/action/length)? My budget is fairly open. thanx in advance, lets hear it.
  16. Daiwa exceler blows all of those away- $69 and is arguably as good or better than some of the reels you posted. I have a couple and just can't believe I can buy two of them for the price I paid for one curado. I did'nt vote. my write in vote: Daiwa Exceler.
  17. the MR which is what I have pictured go 5 to 7ft.
  18. The guy just said he fished a st. croix and it felt stiff- now you are recomending an 844C that thing is a Heavy acion rod- 21oz pool que. I would recomend the BSR852 in either mossyback or GLX whatever is in his price range-
  19. the only 3 types of megabass I like so far are: vision 110 (although I still prefer the LC pointer I will not buy another megabass one) Pop max (the best top water popper I have fished) Deep X series (great crankbaits- my go to for deep water) they are my new fascination- they worked for me on two outtings before it got to cold and I already have confidence in them Not saying those other baits won't work but I wouldn't buy them. Save your money experiment with Jackall you will not be dissapointed most all of their baits are proven.
  20. heres a pic of one of my R2S this is a 5/8oz Chartruse Shad
  21. Here are the pics to my favorite square billed- (Daiwa Thin Lips)
  22. I have been in a legend and it is a sweet boat- I owned a cobra wich is basically the same hull design- very stable and well built. It is not the fastest hull out there do to its weight but a very well designed bass boat.
