The latest sale thread
I'm a victim of that rebate too. I got the packages immediately open them up and rearranged everything by combining some of the package. The next thing I know I tossed all the package without saving UPC to do the rebate. Stupid me lol.

Upgrade bearing opinions
I can third that upgrade bearing for heavy lure might not help you much for distance. If lite lure that might be different story. My proof is I have curado 70 with stock bearing and scorpion 70 with AR bearing (Japan made). When free spin test the scorpion spin twice as long compare to curado, but distance let say 3/8 oz is not much different. For 1/4 oz lure the scorpion can cast a mile so does curado. But some how I wanna upgrade my bearing on chronarch 50e since I have to reduce the break to 1 on to get a good distance, will see result after deep cleaning with mike @delaware.

Jon boat/kayak transducer bow mount.
I might go with Scotty one since I already have Scotty mighty mount on my kayak, I just need to install track rail on my jon boat. Will those mount can handle 10-15mph? I always forget to put my trolling motor up when running outboard engine(15hp) and I afraid I will do the same with transducer. If it is okay to install transducer behind trolling motor?

Jon boat/kayak transducer bow mount.
I'm thinking of moving transducer from stern to bow mount instead, so when I fish I know what coming up not what behind me. Now I think I will need some kind of mounting arm and brackets, right? In this case I would like to be able to use the same transducer in my kayak as well. Any one wanna recommend any mounting hardware to be able to mount on both jon boat and kayak?

Revo MGXTREME2
I was checking those mgx2 and ALX for a long time. I like small light weight reel that can handle light weight lure. After seeing some YouTube compare flagship reel of shimano, daiwa and Abu. I end up with another curado 70 (the third one) that I will use 1/4oz and up if lower than that I have SV105.

When to set the hook?
Don't let @Cattsee your post, he will come with those three taps rule again lol. first tap, fish bite your lure second tap, fish rejected your lure and third, a tap from him "why don't you set the hook" Seriously last time when I fish with huddles ton, I felt the tap but not strong tap I kept reeling in without setting hook. I felt second tap a few second later. I immediately looked behind me if @Cattaround to give a third tap.

Dedicated to swimbait, need opinion.
I'm gonna be doing a lot of pitching and castin into tree that why I'm looking into low profile 200 size. I do have Cardiff 200a but that would be my last resource and my Tatula CT is 8.1 ratio. All my other reels is 50 sizes. I do have another set up for bigger swimbait 7'9H lure rating 2-8oz pair with Luna 253 but that one is too long for tight cast and the whole setup is pretty heavy. I was looking into Tranx 300 which I can get for 240 almost new but that one seem to be too big and I won't be able to use it for anything else. I'd rather use what I have, it too d**n difficult to explain to my wife why I need a new reel AGAIN, but If I really have to buy I'd rather buy 200k.

Dedicated to swimbait, need opinion.
I plan to dedicated myself to all big and small swimbait this year. Last year I got a lot of success on Fluke and chatterbait, so this year I'm going to try my luck on a little faster moving lure like swimbait and lipless. I have some stock of paddle tail swimbait where I mostly plan to use as chatterbait trailer like 4.8 keitech, gambler ez, swim Senko zoom swimming Fluke, etc. I'm going to get some of the keitech 5.8, 6.8 and 7.8 as well. Im going to need some help actually a lot form you guys this year since I have never success on any swimbait ( caught 3 on hudd 68 and that's all) First off, I'm going to setup a new medium size swimbait weighted up to 2 oz. The rod is gonna be Phoenix ultra mbx 700XH. This rod got a lure rated of 1.5 oz, but I tried with hudd 68 weedless rof5 and it cast just find. My question is about reel, the reels I plan to use with this setup are Daiwa steez ex100HS, or shimano Cardiff 200 or Tatula CT type R. Can steez handle 2oz lure weight? Quote per tackle tour review "Some anglers have reported that the Steez Series reels do not hold up well to the rigors of tournament fishing, that the gearing easily strips under pressure." I like to stay with 200 size reel for this application. I believe since I'm gonna use #15 Izor line dia 0.16 I should get close to 90yds. My second choice would be Tatula but it got 8.1:1 ratio might be too fast. Cardiff would be my last choice and worst come to worst if I have to buy a new reel I might get curado 200k with micro gear module. Any opinions?

What lure or lure type have you all caught the most bass with this winter?
I'm not sure when should I count as winter for SoCal. It was pretty warm winter. From December I caught the most on jerkbait a few on Fluke and a few on finesse jig.

Big swimbaits vs small water
why I was throwing big swimbait in my lake for the past month and caught literally nothing. Last week a guy in my lake reported to catch 7.8 lbs with 1/16 Ned rig with zoom. I'm too start to downsize I will use either 8" or 2.5" swimbait go figure.

Low? Water level? We gain almost 4' after last rain, the water level is perfect for spawning season just wait for the bass to move in.

Several spinning rod questions.
I'm like you alway baitcaster guys. I have a few spinning setup and hardly ever use it. Last time I took out my spinning outfit and caught fish my right arm got tired after pull in those fish. Spinning I got most of them light to medium light for panfish where I can cast 1/16 jighead. My main spinning is 6'8 shimano crucial for drop shot and wacky rig pair with shimano symetre 2500. The lure rate is 1/8 - 3/8 oz with extra fast tip. This rod can handle 1/16 jig head plus 1/2 zinkerz just fine. Now to sum up you question. 1. Yes 1/8 rating is nothing as long as it got some backbone. 2. 3/4-1 oz and finesse can't be in the same sentence lol. I happen to have again shimano crucial inshore series with rate 3/16 to 5/8oz but this rod can handle 1oz lure just fine. I use this for mostly catfish fishing. 3. Depend? 1/8 oz true weight? I think my crucial can cast zoom finesse worm weightless just fine(weight?). 4. Action? I'm still not sure. All my new rods got either fast or extra fast where I use for everything from treble hook to chatterbait to big swimbait. My old rods don't have any action listed. Let see here my casting crucial (dropshot specific) rated as Fast action, but my spinning crucial (dropshot specific) rated as Xtra Fast, go figure. 5. I don't care about action as much as long as I can feel a fish bite, that is more important to me. Most of the rod these day gonna be either fast or extra fast unless you get a crankbait rod. 6. My fav rod length between 6'8 to 7'. I fish Jonboat and kayak and I'm 5'7 so I like it not too short not too long. 7. Sensitive rod is important but line watching is very important too. Many time especially between fall you won't feel a d**n thing but the line keep moving side way or jumping. After the fall initial then all about sensitive, I alway touch my rod with index finger if the rod have full reel seat, on hold the reel with another hand so you can touch the line.

I know there are fish somewhere here in California. Too bad they are not here in my lake since I have not caught a darn thing the past two weeks lol.

Bedded bass at night!
Yes I'll target pre spawner or female that already spawned but hang around. I think I'm done with bed/sight fishing, caught quite a few last year with either fat Ika and Ned rig and felt bad about it. I know fishing pre-spawn you can't avoid bedding bass as long as I don't see/target them I can sleep at night. I got a privilege of fishing at night here so why not target that big mama, the only problem is I will fish from shore no boat or kayak at night.

Bedded bass at night!
Do you guys think medium size swimbait would work at night like 6" hudd or 5.8 -6.8 keitech? Or you prefer jig-n-claw?

Need help daiwa pixy Type R
I came across daiwa pixy with broken palm side plate, all the components should still be there. Do you guy know think if side plate from alpha would fit the pixy. Do I need any modification since spool from pixy might be different from other alphas? Do you know where I can get part for pixy? thanks what do you think? @Delaware Valley Tackle

What lure caught your biggest bass in 2017 ?
I caught 7.7# on white 3/8 oz Chatterbait in shallow weedy area. 2nd largest 5.8# came from 08 Rapala Husky Jerk. My water is pretty muddy with only a foot or two of visibility.

Bag vs box soft plastics
In a original bag then in a Plano box or milk crate. I leave all of them in original bag. I transfer those to whatever plano3600 size when I backpacking or kayak or just throw everything in milkcrate when I fish on my jonboat. I do have binder as well but only store the most often use like Fatika Senko and Zman stuff. Often time now when I bankfishing I only grab just a bag or twos with some hooks and head out don't wanna carry too much weight on my back.

Diawa advantage?
Earlier last year I bought Tatula CT just to learn how to skip now I can skip with any baitcaster reel including curado 70 which is very finicky and easier to backlash. But WRB is right I wouldn't skip anything 1/4oz or under at least weightless Fluke and Senko. The heavier the lure the easier to skip. Is SV is easier to skip? I would say YES. Because I can only do backhand skipping with my SV105.
