Finally tested the Curado 70
Shimano Clarus is pretty good rod, doesnt matter if it jig / worm / dropshot / crankbait rod as long as weight of your lure (spinnerbait) is within its lure weight, you should be able to cast with no problem. Another factor to help casting distance is the lenght or the rod. The longer the rod the further it would cast give it same rating same line and same reel. For example I have 6'8" medium rod lure weight 1/4 - 5/8oz, another is 7'2" medium high lure weight 1/4 - 1oz. You can use both for spinnerbait(let say 1/2 oz weight) but MH one would be more ideal and would cast further. Now if 1/4 oz lure I would use medium one even thou they both can cast at that weight but medium rod would has softer tip so it help load up the lure better thus cast further.

Finally tested the Curado 70
Same like this guy said at the end, I love my chronarch 50e cast (2 on 4 off) I can cast anything from 1/4 oz and up without adjust anything. I do adjust to 3 on 3 off when skipping senko/fluke. With yr curado just keep pratice make sure to get the rod to match your lure weight. For 1/2 oz lure I'd go for MH fast. Start from dial at 6, cast a few time and if you dont get any backlash go down 1 dial and repeat. Try overhead cast, side cast and underhand cast. Lower your lure weight when you think you get good at casting without backlash. btw no matter what you do you cannot get the same distance when casting spinnerbait compare to lipless(the one in video). The shape on lure also come into play.

Finally tested the Curado 70
Most ppl struggling when casting light weight lure and cast into wind. If you are going to use for something heavy like 3/8 oz and up, you should be okay and that also the weight (1/2) I would practices casting until I get a hang of it.

Finally tested the Curado 70
Since you are pretty new to casting, If you cast a quite heavy weight lure then 2 on 2 off might work. If you are going to use the reel with lite weight let's say 1/4 or lower, I'd recommend 4 on and adjust dial from max down to whatever number you dont have any backlash problem. Now another thing you should be worried is tension knob, adjust the knob until you feel the lure drop freely when you free spool but not to loose that you can feel the spool move side to side. The reason I recommened 4 on becuz I've read somewhere with curado 70 the 4 on and dial to 1 equal 2 on for older shimano without SVS infinite brake system. I've tried that and I dont see a big lost on distance compare to 2 on 2 off when casting light weight but easier to control.

O rings on Senko's
Always with shrink tube here as well. I cut about 3/8" wide piece. They fit 5" senko with just little gap but with 4" senko I alway shrink them a little bit with lighter.

Diehard Shimano user....heading to the darkside?
They both are good reels you cant go wrong with either one. I compare shimano more like classic car and daiwa more like sport with a splash of color. I start getting daiwa reel when looking for swimbait end up with daiwa luna 253 (cant find 300 GTE at good price). I then started to like easy adjustable of mag brake system on Daiwa. Then go on looking reel for skipping end up with daiwa tatula ct type r for that tws system and 20 dial on mag brake and 8.2 gear ratio. It does help but still, I can skip with my 50e with no problem as well. Another reel I end up with is Daiwa Alphas SV105 just becuz I like red on black reel and was looking for something to replace my 70HG. The only reel I wont get rid of is my chronarch 50e. I also love my calcutta 50 but too bad I traded that for swimbait lure. In near future I plan to buy a reel for small swimbait in 5 or 6 something ratio and Im aiming on either 200i or Chronarch ci4+.

How To Use A Keitech Swing Impact
Thanks a lot to bringing up old thread. I got 6 packs of keitech 4.8" laying around, gotta get them out to use again. I normally use with either 1/4 or 1/2 oz buckeye J-will swim jig head depend on how deep the water I fish or trailer for chatterbait. i like when ppl using search function. Many time I see the same question post over and over again. Btw the search funtion here in the forum is pretty suck, I would get a better result to search from google and link back to this forum to get to the specific, Im looking for.

Tatula CT Type R? or Tatula CT?
If you gonna get reg ct, get it from your local shop to support them. If CT type R then shop online you might be able to find it cheaper. Like iabass8 said type r is more red, a little bit different on bearing and star drag mayerial, otherwise same reel.
- What would you use the shimano curado hg and the shimano scorpion 70 hg for?

Just Fishing For Fun
I was thinking/planning of trolling lure while fishing for bass. I will target crappies though not bass. I dont know if it is gonna work out since the boat would move at very slow speed. I plan to use roadrunner with 2.5" zman swimz. Would it work? I caught only 3 small crappies so far one on trolling double rig with marabou jig, one with inline spinner and last one from while drifting for catfish.

Shimano Curado 100D (MGL?)
I just compare 100d to other small size reel like 50e around 6.8oz or curado 70 around 6.5 oz or alphas sv105 at 6.1 oz. That 100d is about the same weight as calcutta 50. Is it heavy compare to other reels? Maybe not, my other day to day use reel is weight at 11 oz.(daiwa luna 253)

Shimano Curado 100D (MGL?)
If the guy just wanna get rid of it, I would say around 120. @150 price point you might as well get curado 70. I know 100d is a good reel built like a tank, very reliable but as you mention 7.5oz is quite heavy. I had one myself but sold it not long ago.

shaky head worms.
I only use zinkerz not senko or other knock off on shaky head because it float. That another reason I use 3/16oz head. All i need is to move rod tip just abit and the worm would move without moving the jig and it would last for a long time. My 10" worm happen to be same elaztech stuff as zman. I use only owner ultrahead shakyhead which the same as ewg hook on ball jig head so to hook it like normal worm hook, just a tab or superglue and Im done for a long time. You will also see a lot of ppl prefer thick worm or finesse worm since we believe in float at the tail and thus should give more action.

shakey head drop shot line
I'd rather use braid on spinning reel for drop shot. I hardly got a line break at the knot when pulling fish in.

Your next rod
I just got myself another cadting MH/F daiwa tatula and like it alot, fish with it a few time and caught 7 fish already. The next rod might be another tatula but thinking of ML/F for 1/8 oz stuff for crappies to match my new alphas.

shaky head worms.
The last 7 fish (actually 5) caught on 3/16 owner shakey ultra head. The worm is Z-man zinkerz. sometime I will use 10" worm as well.

New PB, caught in Prespawn!
The new one from upton, nope never see it once.?

What is unusable?
I dont like crankbait as much especially deep crank. I plan to try shallow one like squrebill this year. Btw, I got finess worm, senko and jerkbait style plastic in bubblegum and none produce any fish yet.?

How Do I Remove Salt from a ZinkerZ?
Today I use brand new zinkerz for about an hour finally caught one fish then the zinkerz start not to sink(or very slow sink). I guess that how I remove salt from zinkerz. I will use that zinker either on shaky head or 1/10 oz shroom jig.

Just brought a Shimano 70.
