  1. I don't own a boat but I have an 8 foot musky rod that easily fits in my toyota Corolla. put the butt end on the passenger floor in the front and the rest of rod through the seats leaning on the back seat. for longer trips I use a Plano rod tube that extends to 8.5 feet.
  2. if it records how many farts were laid while fishing I'm not buying it.
  3. I know they don't get much love, but the Curado 200i series was amazing. Ive used many baitcasting reel over the years and this one has been by far the best. I don't think they were out for very long though before the 200K came out. but people who bought them loved them. the folks over at Tackletour gave it a glowing review and thats what ultimately made me buy it in 2016: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocuradoibaitcaster.html
  4. I'm disappointed they went back to the old thumb bar design that was on the K. thats the one that fell apart on everyone. I thought that the reason that they changed it in the Curado 150 and the Tranx 150 was that it sucked and people didn't like it (and all the failures when the K first came out) but they went right back to it ?
  5. Ya the red black and gold IMX's I don't think sold well and weren't around for very long. No idea what they were like but obviously something was wrong lol Ya, know, this is only a little 1000 sized Nasci but because its a light powered rod it feels really good on the IMX Pro.
  6. IMX Pro SJR 901 S this replaces a 19 year old GL3 with a messed up reel seat ohhh yeahhh
  7. my Nasci 1000 gets an upgraded Rod! IMX Pro SJR 901 S this replaces a 19 year old GL3 with a messed up reel seat ohhh yeahhh
  8. G. Loomis and Monofilament is the way
  9. ok so i saw a bit more its the new GLX Walleye series
  10. I have found with my curado 200i, which was the first generation with the SVS braking system, that I end up treating them the same as the old 6 pin system. I leave 2 brakes on, the rest off and leave the dial at 3. the only thing I ever have to touch is the cast control knob, same as with the old ones. so for me I haven't noticed a difference. which system casts better I have no idea, they both seem to cast far. my tranx 400A has the old system and it casts great.
  11. I have all of them. they always remind me of the day I brought them home. so I keep them lol
  12. why not just use a good mono like Sufix Siege or Elite? I use 8 and 10 pound on 3000 size shimano spinning reels with no issues at all. then you avoid all the coiling issues of flouro altogether?
  13. If you are looking at an all purpose spinning rod, the IMX Pro SJR842 or the JW rod JWR 892S would both be amazing and probably a step up above the MB. but I think its an extra $100?? I have the JWR 892S in 2018 model E6X and its awesome, the IMX pro would be a level up from this.
  14. if you step up to the IMX Pro I think you will be very happy. its a huge step up from the E6X/GCX. I havent fish with the MB rod but I know the IMX Pro's are amazing. I own the casting IMX Pro, the MBR 903C
  15. I sell on Facebook market place but I stipulate local pick up only. shipping is a pain. so far I've had no issues selling rods. people will come and pick them up.
  16. my main bass rod is a 7'6 MH and my musky(pike because thats all ive caught on it so far lol) rod is 8 feet. I prefer the longer length so I would get the 8 footer
  17. So we know that post pandemic, many rod manufacturers like St. Croix and Loomis have switched from Fuji components to Sea Guide components. St. Croix uses SG components (reel seat) and guides on both their Victory and Bass X lines. Loomis uses SG guides on their GCX line (but still uses Fuji reel seats) if you look on Social media the Bass X rods from St. Croix are falling apart at the reel seat and so are some Victory models. Facebook and reddit is full of posts. do you think manufactures will go back to using Fuji components? I'm at the point now seeing all this that I don't want to buy a rod that doesn't have Fuji components anymore.
  18. I would use 12 pound Sufix Siege. I use that with my curado 200i on my Imx Pro MBR 903C and its awesome.
  19. old shimano spinning reels from the symmetre and up were prone to binding as the friction ring gaskets started to break down or when they got wet. what models are these? stradics and symmetres from years past were infamous for this. they used to call them Shimbindos lol
  20. I had some kind of an eagle claw one I think it was red and black with a red and black rod. not sure if it was this brand though because I'm up in Canada and i don't think they have ever sold the eagle claw rods and reels up here??
  21. I would be ticked off too. I would call and explain what happened and see what they say.
  22. not sure but I've always wanted to try the Shishamo Tramps reel
  23. I have never used a DC reel but have used baitcasting reels since 1998. I get the impression that the DC feature is geared towards beginner or first time baitcasting users. At least it seems like the marketing is geared that way Why would you need the feature if you already throw as good as Roland Martin? which is exactly what you found out. A normal BC reel is just fine, cheaper, lighter and probably casts better too?
