  1. Here’s the scene at the airport launch at 6:17 am this morning, indeed closed until 7 am
  2. I’ve tent camped for years during summer in the swamps of south Alabama and on the beach in South Carolina. Let’s just say when my friends with camper say “do you want to sleep in the A/c on an air mattress?” I accept haha it doesn’t cool down until after midnight, it’s like a sauna in the tent
  3. A toad is a great bait to cover a grass flat, set the power on 6-8 and cast at everything. If you’ve gotta slow down and use flukes and senkos set it on 1-3 and sneak up on em.
  4. My buddy tows a camper all over with a tundra and gets 10 mpg or less, I was like man, doesn’t that sting? He said not as bad as hotel/restaurant accommodations for 5 people every night haha
  5. TnRiver46 replied to SC53's topic in Fishing Tackle
They’ve got all kinds of them at my local shop, striper guys love them (which I suppose means striper love them) I don’t think they do mail order, they look like they are tied in the back room haha. For 1/8 oz you can use regular fly tying stuff and make a pretty good one on your own. For heavier ones I guess you need thicker thread. although I tied a few on 1.5 oz lead and it seems like it will hold, granted I haven’t casted them yet
  6. I pull with a full size v8 and still get the mileage drop, 18 ft aluminum boat
  7. All of it. Standing on the bank can be the best spot quite often my buddy fishes below nick sometimes and he said he wears out white bass and spotted bass with a kayak behind some rip rap wall, I’ve never seen nickajack dam
  8. I didn’t know you fished
  9. That happens here on weekdays in December baha
  10. I just ease along like this…….. but if I’m in my big boat, I just turn up the troller and fish it like anywhere else
  11. I’ve out fished the mighty ned many times with good ole zoom worms
  12. 4am to 11:30 pm?? You got a full kitchen on that Jon boat?
  13. The zoyzia (sp?) is starting to green up for the summer
  14. Let’s go bungles
  15. Ok looking at TVA predicted data, they will be moving less water than they initially posted so getting swept away might be off the table.
  16. Checked Lake Erie water temp the old fashioned way on Sunday, my guess was 61
  17. Helluva day! So far I’ve caught 4 groundhogs, 2 skunks, and a squirrel. At the groundhog job, the customer said I had 2 in the same trap. Well I had a third in another trap they didn’t see. As I was resetting another trap where I caught the first two, I could see a juvenile dive under an out building. I set the trap and just backup up about 50 feet and talked to the lady, and in less than a minute the little hog came out and went in the trap and of course the squirrel, also juvenile
  18. I always stay fairly close to dry land if I’m in a paddle craft . We have an island about 200 yards from our dock, it’s incredible how hard it is to swim that far
  19. She jumped off at the boat? Haha
  20. There will be lots of idiots in the river too, I might look into the Holston if I were you
  21. Sorry bud, That’s malarkey. It’s the reaction/response of people driving too fast that’s dangerous, not the slow moving vehicle doing the speed limit is quite literally never “as dangerous as speeding “
  22. My wife says I drive way too slow, oh well. I’ve lost control and crashed driving way too fast so I drive like papaw nowadays I used to like flying down a backroad like @Koz described until I lost the back end and center punched a cedar tree. No thanks, slow for me. Boy wasn’t that fun, I could have died and then had to buy a new vehicle
