  1. Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. I rarely know where I’m going fishing or which boat I’m taking until about 30 minutes before departure so I don’t have all night to fiddle around with my stuff and have 17 poles ready to go with fresh line on them. I just grab some stuff and go by ear to the OP: I like what you did, sounds like maybe some bad luck, maybe you were there during a 4 hour lull
  2. I caught one on my 130, the other day. The fish was small but hit it twice in a row, aggressively
  3. I put in at the airport last night and paddled up a bit. Didn’t make it up to the French broad, current was starting to pick up . Caught this monster then I figured I’d try slamming a crankbait through some laydowns, caught a small LM and small SM, but bigger than what we had been catching with worms the water has been slow and warming quickly most of the spring while they fill Douglas and Cherokee lake. Douglas is now full so they are pumping water, you can literally smell the difference, but also see fog like this when they start moving fresh water from the bottom of the lake cherokee lake isn’t going to make it to full this year so they are running minimum flow for probably the entire summer on the Holston side this morning when I crossed the river, the water had turned brown and was flowing fast
  4. You’re killing me man! Great fish

  7. Ah, the always misleading world of internet reviews . Fun times
  8. I don’t bother with ned heads, don’t seem any better than regular jig heads I most certainly could not afford fishing store bought neds on a regular basis, they stay stuck
  9. Sheesh, hope everyone gets rid of it ASAP
  10. Update: the French broad will be ripping about 2-3 mph mid week, combined with a lot of milky brown water coming from the little pigeon watershed . I’ll keep an eye on it. Going upstream might be a challenge, potentially impossible
  11. Gotcha! Thanks man. Next time I’m up that way I’ll try it
  12. Praying for y’all mark
  13. They will check you all the time around here, better have it
  14. Yeah buddy!!! I’ve driven up to that lake but I was going to bank fish, but it looked super shallow for a ways around the edge. Is that the case all the way around?
  15. I catch them all year below dams, but really big dams . All the fish seem to stay there, i imagine due to the constant supply of shad the smaller dams can be hit or miss, but usually hit
  16. I just fish the good stuff until they decide to eat. I don’t mind chillin and waitin, it’s nice to sit in a boat, cut up with friends
  17. Never been there but If all else fails drag a tube or finesse worm on bottom. I personally don’t even wait for all else to fail, I just start with dragging
  18. Hahahah, I believe he has won 4 bassmaster events in recent years, 2 at fork. Nice try tho
  19. After having $40 transom savers break over and over and over , I made one out of scrap lumber. It’s lasted several years
