That pic reminded me. Way back in the day, me and some other trout guides were tying up some egg patterns, y2ks, and other bright gaudy flies. One of our coworkers walks in, takes one glance at all the extremely colorful tying table, and says “did Walt Disney barf on the table or something?” ?. Blue fox is muy bueno
  2. Beat me to it. Never used a zako specifically but that’s usually my policy on any soft bait
  3. I’m with James, for $600 you can get more than one. I got an outboard motor for $300 once, probably drove it for 3-4 years before I sold it. Ran like a dream
  4. I’m working on the all dirt yard at my moms. The builder laid some seed on a day when the wind blew it all into a nearby cow pasture hahah
  5. I was fishing right next to home once in my smaller boat with a pull start. There was a storm on radar in Clinton but sunny in Knoxville (maybe 15 miles apart). I was fishing along a boardwalk that is always covered up with folks. Some guy that spoke almost no English kept asking me what was in the water on the other side of the river. After trying to understand him half a dozen times, we are all looking across the water at some random object (me in my boat, he and his wife on a boardwalk overhanging the river). A lightning bolt came down and went sideways in different directions parallel to the water. The rod I was fishing with was now laying in the bottom of the boat, not sure if it was from the lightning or if I just threw it down. Next thing I know, the European guy starts asking me more questions about what’s in the water. I said “who cares buddy, I’m gone!!” And started pulling my rip cord like a madman and headed back to the launch at a breakneck speed of 12 mph. I could hear his wife yelling at him as I motored away haha, hopefully they made it back to a house or car or something
  6. You’ll have to ask a deer hunter why
  7. Man, I didn’t get to watch today. Had my rear end sitting behind a steering wheel from like 6:45 am til 8:15 pm
  8. Hey man, did you get tornadoed? I guess not completely if you’re posting on BR
  9. Make sure it ain’t in gear and the kill switch isn’t pulled before you take it to the MD
  10. I’m seriously thinking about switching from pure gas to E10 + star tron , bout to get priced out of the pure gas game (although I can walk to a station that sells it from my house)
  11. Dude! That’s dangerously close to my house. It’s been fishing good, everything is working. There are dead times , but that’s the nature of the beast. They are already in summer mode, the lack of current this spring has warmed the water up really quickly . Top water, soft plastics, cranks, swimbaits, all been good. There’s 300 billion skipjack herring that may get in your way, large stripers are in there after them Let me know if ya need anything, not sure if I’ll be around but maybe. There can be a ridiculous amount of recreational paddle craft clogging the accesses
  12. If you wanna really be cool like the new YouTubers, you hold it with its head lower than it’s tail. Still haven’t figured that one out, but oh well. Maybe they are trying to make the blood rush to it’s head ?
  13. I drove my truck a long ways today, it’s amazing how much better the MPG is without my boat haha. Went from 12-13 to 18-19. I rarely drive it without a boat behind it
  14. All this time! I just thought you got sad when somebody made a joke or recommended a soft plastic rigging method
  15. I heard the same news when I arrived at my inlaws this evening, hope all is well. Sounded like it hit right in his wheelhouse @A-Jay
  16. Keep up the good work! I thought about your posts when I was hiking not long ago. We had a group of 5 couples but I saw lots of ladies hiking together in small groups and thought "that's what schplurg was talking about!" hahaha.
  17. It’s almost always the tiny ones that are hooked in the throat for me with smallies, I have to cut the line sometimes. Aggressive little boogers
  18. I saw the thread title and immediately missed winter…….. been sweaty around here
  19. Somebody took me to a Fogerty show at worlds fair park in Knoxville when I was 14, man that was fun. My favorite part is when he played the baseball bat guitar for “centerfield”
  20. They have smoked whitefish sausage for sale on Lake Michigan, it’s awesome
  21. And if they do, you can fix them with vice grips
  22. I think TN hit a salt lottery this year. They were laying it down THICK all winter. One time they coated about every road and we got absolutely no precip. My buddy was driving down Rutledge pike and he said he might as well have been on a gravel road the salt was so deep
  23. Yes sir!!!! Love the old evinrudes
  24. That probably takes some time combatting it where you live. And a garage haha
  25. Mom was telling me about that the other day
