  1. The guy in the green shirt was no slouch either! (Or was that cook?) He was more than holding his own from the back of the boat
  2. We usually do some okrA, green beans, and peppers growing up when we went to the grandparents, they grew everything and we all survived off of it. I’ve dug many a tater haha my aunt had a fridge magnet that read “in the summer, the garden consumes us. In the winter, we consume it” in east TN there is little to no flat land so everyone plants small gardens for subsistence not profit the profits all come illegally from clear whiskey and a few other controlled substances
  3. The world is full of morons, you didn’t miss anything. Keep on rocking in the free world
  4. just the ones where one team doesn’t have to play defense in OT. I think it’s something like 10 out of 12 in playoff games (which is why mahomes celebrated when they won the coin toss and burrow winced )
  5. When they formed the new tour, one angler said he would rather be beaten by wolves on the BPT than win against sheep on BASS. It didn’t sit well with some from BASS, of course they all end up fishing against each other in opens or MLFLW big 5 tourneys and the sheep finished ahead of that wolf a few times for the record, this has only been discussed on here a few dozen times and typically ends in the thread being locked, so please keep it civil
  6. A lot of it stems from the anglers themselves. Some stones were hurled after the big split in ‘19, most famously the wolves/sheep comment…….
  7. I wish y’all could convince my buddies of that!!! They think fish only like chamber of commerce weather. Although it’s probably more like they (my buddies) don’t like getting rained on. Or maybe they have bad memories of hiding under bridges and boat houses in lightning storms in my boat haha
  8. 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 oz depending on water depth, substrate, fish depth, etc
  9. The scumbags cut through my lock. Probably with an angle grinder that cost less than the lock they cut
  10. This one ate it right before I took the picture. There’s no way I could count how many 20+ inch smallmouth I’ve caught with that exact same bait. And I’ve caught a whole lot of 22 inch smallmouth on baits even smaller My wife caught this 22 1/2 inch bruiser with a 1.5 inch big bite baits crappie soft plastic. 4 lb test 5’ ultra light rod
  11. Skiff is fine as long as you stay in the lake. Get up into the rivers and you’ll crash it . There’s some white water on the watauga arm of Boone and some very shallow stuff up the soho arm
  12. Back many years ago, I was guiding a smallmouth float in one of those big rafts. One of the guys kept hopping a tube aggressively, I couldn’t convince him to leave it alone. So I told him the story about my buddy that catches big SMB all the time by casting his tube out and setting the pole down, fiddling with the music on his speaker, chasing his dog around the boat, casting other lures on different rods, etc etc. so we anchored up in some shoals and he tries it, just cast and let it tumble. You could tell he was a little skeptical, then you could see his rod tip bouncing…… he got 3 in a row hahaha
  13. if you don’t have a canoe, kayak, or jet boat, your locked out of a few hundred miles of excellent bass, trout, and striper fishing where I’m at. That’s why you always see ott Defoe driving wide open on wet gravel
  14. I found a picture in the archives. Let them sit in a bag of purple worms for a few days for added amounts of fun
  15. I should add: it was so cold at the 2020 regular season elite event on day 2 that swindle said he was coming back up river to weigh in and passed two ducks chopping firewood………. it was just 38-40 but pouring rain all day long made it fairly miserable
  16. Wait a minute, where you getting a $20 ugly stick? I’ve never bought one cuz they are $40…….
  17. He may……. But that was a cold February tournament
  18. Reporting live!!!!! gustafson won the last BASS event they had here, I guess it was 2020. Steve Kennedy made a charge to catch him but came up short
  19. That’s what I was thinking, predators hunt the weak. Then on the other hand, maybe it takes the alpha bass to eat the defensive craw
  20. I’ve learned some things as a newly wed……
  21. It’s been pretty floody on your side of the Appalachians the last few years, that’s for sure
  22. 2 inches of rain is hardly a storm for Richmond, more like a regular weekday i would imagine y’all have gotten 2 inches in a few hours many times in the last 3-4 years
