  1. I’ve never once read an insurance policy. I’d rather catch 3-4 moderately severe beatings
  2. Nice fish! You’re holding him inside out…… just messin with ya
  3. I have, they don’t get bit . I ain’t on pickwick!
  4. Everyone always says jigs are good when it’s cold but I’ve never had a bite on one in water under 60 degrees. The smallies I fish for like them much more from April-thanksgiving or so. In winter they eat mostly tiny minnows and tiny craws, I have loads more success on a small minnow or tube bait in the cold water
  5. I’ve been to fork in march, weather is a bit of a wildcard. I would go further down but I’m just a tourist in Texas
  6. I’ve got to get on one of these, suffering from FOMO. My plan was to do it live from the water today, oh well. My plans are always overridden hahaha
  7. Bass also like purple, green, and brown in the spring. I usually base it more on water clarity than season
  8. Congrats to Brandon Lester, he will be fishing the 2023 classic in his home state 2nd place in a bassmaster open is not too shabby, he won $25,000. Lester said on the podium it was harder to win an open than an elite series event
  9. I use 2.75 inch tubes, so an exposed jig head is pretty much the only option. You might could rig one weedless on a tiny 1/0 and crimp a split shot on the hook shank, but I gave up trying weedless years ago. I fish them like this 99.9% of the time. Catches as well as a ned rig for a fraction of the price . I’ve fished this fairly often for 20 years and they won’t tear up the plastic so no need for elaztech
  10. Yeah , I think I could lose for 100k
  11. Just realized I had a typo, I “can’t” catch anything casting them, but most always catch something trolling them.
  12. Sailing the seas of cheese by Primus
  13. I use them year round! Almost always on 1/8 oz ball head. Of all the lures in the world, that one will get bit if you need a bite
  14. Finesse worm is about all they ever want, and it’s about all I ever throw
  15. Haha! Halfway through cleaning them today, I was feeling that. I didn’t go inside to sharpen the knife but I should have
  16. There’s no limit here, most people have no idea that exist. There’s a few tributary lakes loaded with jumbos Some guy even showed me a picture from 2016 of some jumbos he got right where I was standing today. I’ve only ever caught small ones there, i was at a dam on the main river
  17. Thanks for the post! Now go chug some water
  18. That reaction strike is the real deal. I can’t catch anything casting a crankbait, but when I pull them 2 mph with a gas engine the fish jump all over them
  19. I know that’s right! I caught perch today with bits of night crawler and kept throwing them in a bucket. At first I didn’t realize why they weren’t swimming around in the bucket, the water was turning into ice
  20. You mean the guy that caught a 9 lber on day 1? Haha. The reason he still finished second is because he had 5 for over 28 lbs on day 1 the winner, as usual, had 3 consistent bags in a row. (14, 18, and 18)
  21. Y’all are tough! I couldn’t do it. I saw a recent video of someone an hour north of me breaking skim ice by idling through it with a bass boat
  22. Nice! Pig makes a fine meal
  23. I will say my power went out at some point but came back on, oven and microwave clock were blinking and had to be reset. First world problem
  24. I watched hockey for about 20 seconds then switched over to bobs burgers
