The fish are beginning to get nervous

Same here. Largemouth and smallmouth can be anytime anywhere. i will say Fighting a fish is easier with baitcaster, but getting fish to bite is easier with spinning. I like them both! And I usually have both with me

Unfortunately I haven’t caught a single fish with most of my lures! Lots of fancy crank baits and jerkbaits, only one or two of them seem to work. And I usually lose those…….. then I pick up a bag of soft plastics and fish chew them up

I would just set a cage trap, relocate if the law allows or relocate to the big hollow tree up in the sky if required. Gillie suit sounds way more fun tho hopefully you can eliminate the ones that have learned the behavior but they certainly learn from each other

Happens here too, they always say something derogatory about the fisherman up ahead, but they forget that sound carriers over water and I can hear them

Hadn’t heard about this latest round, but that happened in Atlanta a few years ago. Mom always thought me to have boots, a jacket, and a gallon of water in case I had to walk to safety. I also typically have some matches in every vehicle when it comes to Atlanta or VA, I think you can get stuck in traffic for hours on a sunny day with dry roads

Yea I know what you mean! There’s been a few times I had to unhook them with a long stick and my boots haha. Those fish give up under no circumstances

Today I took my First fishing trip of the year and it was to the rock quarry. The TN river looks like peanut butter so I figured this was a good alternative. The water here is always gin clear, today it was muddy and quite weird in places, had a skim of purple dust on top. Melting snow made me think I should avoid the incoming water and fish the lower end but I walked right to the upstream end and set up shop. I bought a new reel today so I figured if nothing else I would test it out. I had a tiny fluke tied on , I knew I should try something darker in color but it was tied on so I dropped it under the dock I was standing on, expectation level .001 out of 10. As soon as I lifted there was a fish on the line, it jumped off. I proceeded to catch 6-8 of them, maybe more, and dropped a couple. Then my buddy showed up and fished for just a couple minutes and caught one with a Texas rig lizard. Not a bad hour!
