Yeah I edited that. You being alone with rods is pretty good case haha. They also look at anyone with binoculars before they ever pull up on you here however had you been unlicensed and they didn’t see you fish, they wouldn’t have a case

They typically have to see you psychically cast/troll or hold a rod before they can write a no fishing license ticket. But if they ask before you cast, no harm no foul I suppose if you show it to them. Also if you are alone in a boat full of rods, they have probable cause haha

Yes you can stand in any of them. With a beam width over 54 inches it starts getting even more stable

If the boat says max is 15 horse, I would start looking for a 15. 9.9 horse might do great if it’s all you can find. 4 stroke definitely makes life easy but they are what I would call “the best” which you said you don’t want. If you can keep your weedeater running, you can usually keep a 2 stroke outboard running. Running a 4 stroke is like driving a car. They start easily and the maintenance is much less frequent. From what I understand, 4 stroke outboards are heavier if you are carrying the motor into a garage or something. If you’re worried about weight inside the boat, go with rope start and keep an extra cord on hand. What’s nice is having electric AND pull start on small outboards.

Oh baby, those things run like a top. I ran a ‘57 sea horse in my youth, very reliable congrats on the alumacraft! I love fishing out of boats like that, still do it all the time. Just don’t goose the throttle in reverse with the low transom! (If I recall the Johnson sea horse will definitely crank while it’s in gear……… but then again mine was older)

yeah buddy! The ones in this picture are one time use in the rapids . If you’re doing multiple floats for years to come, what you need are tractor tire inner tubes. The valve stem will bug you a little bit but they won’t bust nearly as easily. Throw some hooks sinkers and a few pop R s into a bag of zoom worms and zip it in your shorts pocket i must stress that this is some of the most fun fishing you will ever do. This is how we fish the rivers with rapids where you would normally be dragging a kayak or canoe. Sure the fishing is great, but the added element of tubing down rapids makes it so much fun

A skinny 18” smallie is usually around 2.25-2.5 lbs in the Ohio/TN river drainage. Looks accurate to me. Those long lean ones will fight like the devil too

That’s the spirit!!! Couldn’t hurt to try an Apple or birdseed for bait too but sounds like that skunk isn’t going to be trapped until he/she is good and ready
