Baitcaster for heavy lures like a spinnerbait is most people’s preference including mine. I like 6 lb line for spinning gear and that’s too light for most spinnerbaits

That happens to me every year since like 1997 on my Alabama trip with spinnerbaits. 23 years later I still ain’t got it. I REALLY hate a spinnerbait. I could also throw a 5 or 6xd until rapture and never catch a fish, some things can’t be explained

Sassy shad or gulp minnow on 1/8 oz ball head. 6’6” $13 rod, $30 abu cardinal reel with 6 lb mono This is about the only setup I use all winter every year with the exception of spoons and blade bait. I usually have a tube or marabou on instead of grub tho

I’ve tried diving down off my dock to save all the lures I’ve lost over the years. It’s too dark underwater to see anything and a hellacious pressure builds up inside my head over 6-8 feet down. So I’ve tried but to no avail. I found a ratchet strap and some sunglasses though
