I can see why! With today's high quality photos and my broke hind end, I'd probably go the @A-Jay route of framing a photo. I would love to catch a monster and get a high quality mount but I'm guessing a guy that does that kind of high quality work comes with a price higher than what I've got haha

I use an 18.5 ft center console duracraft. I don't think you could call it a bay boat because it's camo but it's pretty close . Not sure width but my buddies 6 ft tall sleep on the back deck sometimes . Center console does get in the way but the front deck is huge. The one thing I can't do is drive the main channel when there are big waves. Well I can do it but I trim up and go slow, bringing up the nose as much as possible. And by slow I mean like 8-12 mph

@TOXIC, I know exactly how you feel. Most of my guiding is done fly fishing for huge trout on a tiny stream , usually 2-4 hours. You can easily see the fish but they are beyond smart. The clients always say "I can see them right there, why don't you cast out there and catch one? " I always refuse until we are done so I don't waste any bites . Sometimes I will hook one to show them how slow they are setting the hook but sometimes those fish have already shut it down and they won't bite my casts either

No one has stated the obvious answer to the original question. What is the main reason for not catching bass? Not holding your mouth right. Duh.

Any tip would be fine, $20 is usually pretty standard unless you are a high roller hahaba. Beer whiskey and fishing stuff is also acceptable

Only if it doesn't start! I would just have one battery for the gas motor and one for the troller if it's 12v. Fish a few days and see if it will last. Adding more batteries adds more cost, which is my limiting factor 100 percent of the time. I've been fishing with one half shot trolling battery (24v) for 2 years plus and I still get a bite every once in a while . I can still use the troller for about 5-6 hours . I will probably replace the crap battery once and for all the days get good and long . I've had 24 v for about 10 years and I miss 12v

Mike Carter is another good one. Best time for giant bass was Dec and January before the flooding. Cold terrible weather is when most chickamauga Giants are caught. They can still be caught during your time frame, but winter is best

Thanks to FDR it is impossible. Well unless a dam breaks . Tva said that most lakes will be at summer pool by the end of this month, which on some lakes means plus 30 feet from their current levels . Tributary lakes are built only to store flood waters. For instance the two lakes above the Knoxville (Douglas and Cherokee) will hold back water when it starts raining heavily (seems backwards I know). They can rise several feet per day but it prevents flooding downstream. Historically Chattanooga flooded several times a year before TVA. We get almost as much rain as Seattle

There may some online national tournaments that allow a canoe to compete. I am also a canoe fisherman, I have an alumacraft. She's my baby........

I'm guessing @MN Fisher is like me and doesn't have any desire to fish tournaments. Sure I enjoy friendly competition among friends and bragging rights are pretty funny but all these rules just seem crazy. I enjoy BASS on TV but I fished a tournament myself once and it was just not for me (especially the ride with a stranger at 70 mph part). Kind of like baseball: I love to watch on TV and play pickup in the yard but I still can't make the big leagues or verbally explain the infield fly rule to my girlfriend. As far as the polygraph thing, I'm sure the tournament organizers are just trying to prevent cheating the best they can but I was unaware that polygraphs have been proven ineffective. You would think the next step would be to find a more reliable solution but I sure don't know of one
