22 June 2020 ~Another Old Town Adventure (video)
How far south is Menderchuck south? Every time you two head there, the New England accents turn to southern accents. ? Nice work you two. Those are some nice pro hooksets by Lynn!

Went out early this morning to a lake down the road. The brown bass didn’t cooperate, but 6poundbass caught this largemouth. Came home the sun popped out and we fished in our back yard and he managed another. I got skunked for the day. Oh well, I enjoy watching him get excited.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
A simple purchase but a big purchase. My last Pad Crasher (about 10 years old) was forced into retirement, I’m keeping that thing a lot of good memories with it over the years. Since retiring the old one I’ve tried others in my box, Lunker Hunt, scum frog (I do like it), but none compared to the Pad Crasher. I finally found one after going to three local stores. Nothing compares to the Pad Crasher at all. A little trim of the tails and she’s ready to go!

Post a photo a day!
We went out early this morning. The weather was ok at first, then the wind picked up and a brief shower rolled in. This was the only catch of the day, wrong color bass but it was a bass. We saw a giant lake trout swim by us, but wanted no part of what we were offering. All in all we had fun.

Coping with the crowds this year
My private lake has been pretty quiet! ? When 6poundbass and I go out to public lakes we start very early and off by 11 am, that’s when the no wake hours ends.

It’s happened to me before a few times. I never got an explanation why, but I PM’d a mod and they fixed it.

@MIbassyaker that is a warmouth. I had heard of them before but never saw one until 6poundbass caught one last year off our dock. I initially thought “funky looking bluegill with a huge mouth”, then I got to looking on line and realized what it actually was. Only one we’ve caught so far.

Finally
Thankfully the wife does mine (what’s left) and my son’s hair. My SIL is a “hair stylist” as they’re called here apparently instead of beauticians. She complains wayyyyyyy to much about how hard her job is for me to even consider asking her for a haircut.

My hook up ratio sucks
So my wife and son replaced my Kastking rod that broke about a month ago with a 7’6” HF Lightning rod (father’s day gift early) 20lb braid and the hooks and lures previously mentioned. Maybe there’s too much backbone? I figured the fast tip would help with that. No appendages were ripped off. Now that you mention it, I did see a fish (couldn’t tell what it was) pick up my bait and move it, but never really committed to engulfing it. I didn’t see a bed, but the water is pretty stained. My son was throwing a blades jig and lost a few as well. The one I did bring in the boat was barely hooked in the lip, so it’s quite possible they just didn’t want to commit. I’m still going to go to a 4/0 hook.

I’ve never had issues with EWG, to each their own I guess.

My hook up ratio sucks
The water temps were 10-15* cooler. Our overnight lows dipped into the upper 40’s the past couple nights, and highs were in the mid 60’s compared to 93 only a couple days ago. I didn’t have much of an issue with the Rage baits. The D-bomb, that was a different story. I’m going to give these a shot, thanks!

My hook up ratio sucks
I did do that a few times. I can’t be certain that the problem occurred while it was moved up.
