Most would suggest that you swap displays with someone that has a similar connecting transducer to see if it's the display or the transducer that is the problem. Try cleaning the face of the transducer. You can remove the transducer from the trolling motor to test it. Check the electrical connections for corrosion and tightness, especially the fuse holder for a weak spring (if you have that type). It could be just a low voltage problem.

I agree with you TourPT. I'm glad I have about 1,000 yards of the Super Braid. As far as Power Pro, the only thing I can tell that is "new and improved" is the packaging.

It looks like a snagging set up I see guys use because they cannot catch the fish. The same goes for the center weighted treble hook.

fishfordollars, you are wrong about the line being affected by water. I just received a e-mail reply from Shimano/Power Pro about water absorbsion, uv breakdown, age, or temperature. None of those affect Power Pro. I suspect that is true for all superlines of that material. Some of my 6 year old lines confirm it too.

The Swimming Image is a sort of stick bait. I use it because I can cast it a lot farther than a conventional stick bait when chasing schooling fish. I guess a conventional stick bait will work with casting limitations, but I have the right tool for the situation.

You can tell the topwater action is about to happen if you see the shad schools on the surface. The water depth in the channel is about 50'.

Just past the NO WAKE (maybe 50 yards) bouy in Big Lick where the creek channel swings close to the right shore, the trout (sometimes smallies) can be caught on topwater poppers and Swimming Images during mid day.

The blue areas on this map are largemouth spawning areas. There may be a few smallmouths around too.

The largemouth will probably be in some or all of the spawning stages. Check the cove where the beach/campground is where the shoreline is not steep. Are you lauching at Fortney Branch, picnic area near the dam, or Bolar Flats?

I start with seasonal patterns and presentations, then adjust from there.

Josh, no the Zoom worms do not float. They will stand up for a while with the jig because the jig has a faster fall rate than the worm.

The one I made is with the thick walled PVC with threads on both ends. I added a camera mount and copper fittings on the other end to plug into a 3/4" pin seat base. The PVC is 3' long and I can use it with a short pedistal or just put it in the base. I use a video camera which has remote control so I can easily compose the picture before taking it.

Compliment on your choice of boat sizes. You are among the few that start your boat quest with a stable size jon boat.

fishermantonyt, the worm more or less falls vertically in the horizontal position, and lays flat on the bottom. Occasionally it will go left or right as it falls and end up on the opposite side of a tree or stump that it was cast to or even away from it, but it is a random occurrence. I use Zoom worms and they don't float.

Yes, Paul, the rest I caught were under 5# and 5-10 seconds of resistance is all I get from those. Yes that is the BPS Rattle Shad. I didn't purchase it though, I retrieved it from a tree limb about 7' above the water. Looks new with no scars. I did throw it some for testing and it has a good wiggle but not as much water resistance as the Red Eye Shad. I won't be buying any since I fish timber a lot and need more leading edge flat surface to work thru limbs without getting hung up. It looks like a good open water bait though.

Paul, I caught this one yesterday and it offered quite a bit of resistance on a medium action rod- jumped 4 times and went under the boat twice. Just a hint of pink this time--water temp was 68 degrees.
