That was wild. The guy who came in 7th on the co-angler side is a friend of mine from North Carolina. He said that there were 8 foot waves and that he had to make an appointment with his chiropracter for almost everyday for the next 2 weeks. ;D Congrats to all of them and hope they all can walk after a week of that.

That is a perfect comeback. It always amazes me when people come to live in the US then talk about how much better there country is and how here in the US we are nothing but scum and not worth the time of day. Most of them have to spend months trying to get out if not years just to bad mouth the country they decided to come to.

I had a 4 inch bluegill hit a 3 inch popper I was using one time. His mouth wasn't even big enough to go all the way around the rear treble hook of the bait but he tried anyway. ;D

I have one. I love it I learned on it and would still use it today but I have to order a couple of parts for it. My Dad has 2 of the silver Bantam 1000's he still uses and does quite well with. I will agree that they don't compare to the newer reels but still hold up and are still able to catch fish.

I have had good and I have bad. They are great if you have a short amount of time on the water, maybe one or two days and want to get on the fish. Alot of it has to due with the guides attitude and personallity. I went with one in Fl one time that drove me crazy. He did everything but reel the fish in for you. Not alot of fun. Then I went with one a couple of months ago who was a great guide. He not only got us on fish but we carried on conversation all day not just about the fishing but anything and everything, which was real good because my wife was with me and she gets real bored jsut talking fishing all day. :
