Having Trouble Catching Fish
Caught a smallmouth that spit up a craw, and its a full moon here! Thank you for taking the time to analyze this lake. I only fish a few small bodies of water and this is the only one with a decent graph. I am trying to learn how to interpret these maps in a sense of knowing where to find fish. BTW, what is a finger? this usually works great in the summer. that is how i caught an 8.5 lb bass on this lake. I caught a 2.53 lb bass at 5:20 on a spinnerbait along the lily pads, a 2.5 lber in the middle of the channel on a spinnerbait, one on a drop shot fluke, three on tubes under docks, none on the seiko, one on a regular fluke, got followed by pike on spinnerbait and keitech with no results.

Choosing a boat type?
Where can this happen? Also, I don't want to spend too much money. I am going to work all summer and save up.

Choosing a boat type?
I am looking into a bigger boat. My 14' hull is great for one person, but any more than that (especially my grandfather) and it is not safe. I am looking at used bass boats and used v hulls. I like to bass fish most of the time, but i also fish for other species like trout, pike, etc. Am i better off with a v hull or bass boat? I want to fish bigger water than small lakes.

Weirdest pattern you’ve ever been on?
the "trolling jerk baits, diy alabama rigs, and jitterbug at 2 in the after noon on a bluebird 85* day in mid july in 60 fow with 25' visibility bite" was pretty insane, caught 50 fish in 2 hours

Having Trouble Catching Fish
My friend and I have been fishing our lake this weekend without much luck. It is located in northeastern PA and we usually catch lots of fish near the lily pads and along the docks. 75% of the lake has docks and then 10% rocky shoreline and 15% lilly pads. We caught a few bass on flukes near docks, nothing in the lily pads probably because they are dead, and a few on spinnerbaits and keitechs shallow. We could see beds, but only saw one fish that may have been spawning. On a nearby lake i caught a bass in 1' of water on a wacky rod that was full of eggs. I am planning on throwing a nose hooked fluke on a drop shot and covering water that is a bit offshore from the docks, a spinnerbait, and flipping a mini craw and 1/4 tungsten to the docks. what else should i be throwing? it is drizzling and cloudy but the temp is high 60s to 70s today and tomorrow. Yesterday we caught the fish and it was 80 and sunny

Minimalism...
In school I have been learning about Thoreau...a man who recognized that people have a tendency to continue to purchase things in order to be satisfied and be happy, something that is not possible to achieve simply through purchasing things. He believed in using only what you need. I have been on a trend of purchasing lots of new rods and reel and a few lures that i "need". I am at a point where I have discovered which lures work best in my waters and how to fish them effectively. I a considering selling off my excess gear and rods. I have always be a fan of quality over quantity, so I have a few really nice setups that can stay. What does everyone think about this idea? If you have done this, how has it worked out and what advice d you have?

Hair and Hats?
This may seen like a really weird question, but... I am going to be away from home many weeks at a time. This may mean I won't be styling my hair everyday. I also wear hats a lot and want to know what hairstyle is best for being maintenance free but still looking good. Buzzcuts don work because i have odd and will trim my hair everyday, and will never be able to grow it to short/medium length again. im thinking of something slicked back...

I Feel Terrible...
Well, I have been trout fishing in Southeast PA for the last several days. I have kept some and released others. Today, I caught two rainbow trout. One was very silvery and long. The other was very colorful and fat. The fat one was hooked badly and bled a lot. It was not likely that it would have survived so I kept it, along with the other fish. Upon further review, I believe that that fat fish was ready to spawn. Was this the case? I feel really bad and guilty.

Spinnerbait Rod suggestion - Dobyns Fury or Daiwa ?
Been looking at that rod. What are the specs exactly? I am quite confused by the website and the fact that it is mislabeled does not help. http://dobynsrods.com/store/#!/DC-736CB-GLASS-labeled-DC-735CB-GLASS/p/78078711/category=22175368 http://dobynsrods.com/store/#!/DC-735CB-GLASS-labeled-DC-736CB-GLASS/p/78078712/category=22175368 will this throw 1/4 oz spinnerbaits with a trailer hook and double willow blades / a 3/8 oz chatter bait?

Fishing fathers
I am 16, so I don't plan on having kids for a few more years. Both my grandfathers and my dad like to fish.my grandfather passed away before I could really get to know him and fish with him, that being said, I loved him very much and we have some great memories, but not of fishing together. My other grandfather and i fish as much as possible. Maybe once a month or so. My dad likes to fish but he prefers to catch. He will fish more in the spring during the spawn in our local Quarries (hence the name). He also fishes with me up north when we catch a ton of smaller bass. He even caught his first pike on the same trip as me! My mom likes to fish, but its really just to spend time with me. I enjoy her company when im just trying to relax. I am planning on taking my little cousins 2 and 4 fishing with my grandfather this spring. they keep talking about it and really want to go. I will expose my kids to fishing, along with many other activities, with hopes of them emulating me. If fishing is not for them, or anything else for that matter, I will not push it too hard. But it would be great to share some of the memories i have with older family with them!
