Summer Fishing Trip
I want to take a long fishing trip with a friend or two this summer. We will be driving, have a max budget, like 750$-1000 each, and we all live in PA. I want to go north to fish smallmouth. If any of you are familiar with the Never Stop Tour, I want to do something like that. We have small boats, but no bass boats. Any advice is appreciated.

That is not a bad idea, although santa usually gets my list and orders the baits while i sit on his lap... On a serious note that is not a bad idea, although i will freak out if i miss a better deal. thank you for the advice and i will consider that...

in a PICKLE
I currently have 125$ in cash saved up. I do have more, but I don't want to go broke. I also have a little bit of room in my xmas list. I will also likely receive some other money from relatives. I am in need of tackle about $300 worth without a discount, a new Spinning combo worth over $400 new (I'm not going to spend that much), and lastly two new casting reels. Current Plan: buy two Refurbished 7.2:1 Shimano Casitas's for less than $62.50 each ask for tackle and money for xmas I was all ready to go through with the plan, but then i found a barely used Chronarch Ci4+ casting reel for $150. Do I buy two casitas's or one ci4+? If you know of any other mega deals on casting reels, about 50% ish off (open to anything though), LET ME KNOW! Thanks.

3 Great Sales on Rods, Can't Decide!

Trout/Smallie setup
Your rod will work great. try an inline spinner in silver and gold. Might want to upgrade don the road. 25 size reel, 10lb braid leader 7'ml rod

Lexa 300 or 400?
the 400 weighs over a pound i think, you'll wear out too fast, go with the 300 for that reason
-
Shimano 201XGK
I'm sure its a great reel. the gears are like that of the 279$ shimano who's name I'm blaming on. it micro modulus i think tho. great reel for moving baits. home this helps

Rod & Reel Arsenal
I am going to list my confidence baits and how I like to fish them. I want your opinion on what the best rod reel and line would be for each technique. Specific gear or just specs are fine. Don't have a budget, but nothing under $100 or over $425. Thanks! Ned Rig Free fall in open water, I never drag them. Was thinking a 7'6" ML mod fast with yellow braid and a leader. This is my biggest producer in the spring. Mostly a line watching technique so i might be able to get a cheaper rod. Drop Shot fished either in 25' visibility sand bottom or on milfoil beds. I am currently using 1/0 or size 1 drop shot hooks, and a 1/4 oz round tungsten weight. My rod and reel are my nicest in my arsenal, but my rod just broke and the reel is a 3000, might switch to a 2500. 7'1"MLXF and 25 size reel 10 lb braid, 6-8 lb leader UL Texas Rig Fished with a 1/8 oz lead bullet weight and a peg, a 1/0 hook, and a purple zoom finesse worm. Works great in ponds. mostly pitch to light cover. was thinking 6'6" ML fast and a 20 fish sized reel with 10 lb braid and 8 lb leader Wacky Rig/Skipping Tube I only fish this around docks for big bass. Not sure what to use, maybe a 6'4" MH spinning 3000 sized reel and 30 lb braid? Keitech Swimbait Probably my favorite to use, I use a 3/0 light wire unweighted swimbait hook, and a 1/8 oz hook. I only use 3.8" Keitechs. I don't usually peg. Mostly fished in open water over milfoil, or along weed and dock lines. Was thinking a 7'3" M or MH mod fast and smooth 3000 size reel 15 lb braid 10 lb leader Finesse Swim Jig I really like the KVD Tour Grade Swim Jig in 1/4 oz. I like to fish it around docks and threw light vegetation. Not sure what the best rod or reel is but id prefer casting. Finesse Spinnerbait I like 1/4 oz spinnerbaits with at least one willow, mostly double willow. I like how they swim and stay relatively shallow, while allowing me to cover water fast. I use a 6'6" MH Bucco and Tataula Ct 7.3 with 15 lb floro, great in tight quarters, but not open water. Frog/Swimbait The last bait that I am confident in is a frog or soft 5" keitech swimbait weighted through vegetation. i use a 7'3" MH F and 30 or 50 lb braid

Bait monkey, but worse...
Yes, you can also find honeycomb spools on ebay for 35$ which apparently make a difference I have a few tattles, my favorite is the cabbalas arachnid, mad by aiwa with more bearings. If you can find it get one, if not ct!
