  1. 1 is luck, 2 is a pattern for me.
  2. I have 2 rods that I flip/pitch with. An 8' fuego for 3/4 and up. And a fury 735 for 3/4 and under. It can be a workout if you're pitching and flipping all day but I love it. I would highly recommend both rods listed. Balance is most important, not necessarily physical weight.
  3. $250 dollar combos for me. And that's including line. Mainly dobyns fury's, lews tp-1, falcon bucoo and daiwa tatula ct, fuego ct, or tatula sv.
  4. I throw them weightless all the way up to 3/8 weights. Doesn't take much weight to punch it through vegetation because the worm weighs so much I use a gamakatsu g-lock magnum ewg. I believe they classify it as an 8/0 hook. Pretty much made for the bigger senko style baits.
  5. Make sure and report back your results. Both good and/or bad
  6. I have the magnum crank rod and it fishes really well.
  7. Work on your casting being 1 fluid motion. Not snappy like a spinning rod. If you have ever played golf, it's like trying to hit a drive, you don't have to swing hard to get it to go far. Mechanics and timing are key
  8. I believe both are under 1.75 ounces. I stand corrected.
  9. I have found that Some fluoros are too slick to be tied in a cinch for leader material. Had this problem with sunline assassin (great line btw, just very slick due to the p-ion coating). I would suggest switching to a mono or copoly line and using the fg or Alberto. I've tied those down to 10lb braid to a 4lb mono leader.
  10. You could get by with it if you were using 1/2 or 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. But for 1/2 ounce and under I prefer a medium heavy. Dvt Pretty much nailed it.
  11. I believe I replied to that thread and wanted to work on football jigs, carolina rigs, and drop shotting. Haven't had a chance to do the first 2 because of other patterns I found while I was going to try those. Drop shotting has found a small place in my repertoire, but I'm still no master yet. I'm not seeing the grass jig in his sight. Does it have another name? Would like to look into some heavier jigs.
  12. That's what I was hoping for.
  13. Paint jobs are legit and they put good hooks on them right off the bat.
  14. Intricate or refined delicacy.
  15. Finesse to me doesnt always mean light weights and small baits. More of a mind set. I finesse 12" worms with 3/4 ounce weights through brush piles all the time. But I've also power fished small trick worms by twitching them like a jerkbait. But I'll stick to What's politically correct and say dropshotting a small lizzard
  16. What is the main techniques you will use this setup for. 1/10th to 1.5 ounces is a really wide range.
  17. It may sound crazy, but If you can get your hands on a 7'4 heavy Bucoo that is a sweet rod! I have thrown everything from spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, 3/8 jigs, swimbaits, and light carolina rigs with it. Very versatile stick.
  18. Falcon makes good rods. I have a heavy/fast sr that is more of a MH/mf. I like it. I would say that the medium heavy you speak of is more of a heavy medium if that makes sense. I would say the taper is probably 70% backbone, 30% tip. They have very light/crisp tips. I think it would be a good rod for the swimbaits you have mentioned as long as you don't have too big Of a weight with them. Swimjigs I prefer a very stout jig hook and weed guard and like a powerful mh or even a heavy rod so it wouldn't be my first choice for that.
  19. I use a fuego ct for some of my light weight work like drop shotting, shakey heads, knock-off senkos, and smaller finesse jigs. I think that it would be my 3rd choice behind a tatula sv and tatula ct. But my first choice in the sub $100 range
  20. Welcome from another hoosier. Be sure to check in on the (un)official Hoosiers thread.
  21. If I remember correctly they are very similar to the 7" senkos. really thick but more durable
  22. Haven't seen the 7" dingers in a while. I like the bps sticko. I believe they are 7 1/8 inches
