Frogs on mh rods
Jackall kaera frog is a good finesse frog. Also the damiki air frog has air chambers so it can be used like a normal hollow body but is soft like a buzz toad. That way you could use your own size, gauge, and style of hook.

MUD
Dirt, debris, and other particles are more dense than water. Ions that are more dense than the solution they are in, sink. I say its muddy all the way through. The only place I would say that it isn't muddy all the way through is if you have dirty water dumping into clean water. The inflow of the dirty water would keep it higher in the water column for a bit before it got the chance to slow its movement and begin settling in the bottom.

Waiting on a backordered Shimano Expride
A lot of japanese companies practice JIT. Which stands for just in time. Its great for when things are going how you expect them, but a turn for better or worse can take a toll on inventory and production. Great for lean manufacturing.

Funniest personal fishing story
3 tournaments in a row I got attacked by a bumble bee the size of a pterodactyl, each time I tried to swat it with my hat or with my hand. My hat and sunglasses ended up in the lake 3 tournaments in a row. We live in a VERY rural area (hick town, 2 stop lights, gotta drive 20 minutes to get socks). We were out bowfishing one night when the river was flooded. There were 3 of us. After we left our first spot and were driving down the road, we could tell the trailer was pulling funny and the boat seemed to be leaning to one side. The leaf spring for the trailer had busted and the tire was rubbing the boat. We didnt know what to do as we couldn't fit the 16ft boat in the back of the shortbed chevy we were in, even if we could have picked it up. We walked around and eventually found a perfectly sized log and jammed in between the frame and the boards of the trailer to make a leaf spring. We drove 15 miles to the closest property us 3 owned and finished the night bowfishing off the bank. Another time we were going down the bank chucking a spinnerbait. I broke off down at the reel after a small fish bit. A few casts later my friend says I got one, but its fighting weird. He had one alright, he had caught his spinnerbait in the line that I had just broken off and it still had the small bass on the other end.

Use of a Medium heavy EXTRA fast?
I dont use leaders much, if I do I only make them as long as the distance between the first eye and tip top guide. So I cant comment on that.

Suggestions A- rig Rod (first time Umbrella)
If it were me I'd go the 806 and spool it with different line. I dont believe there is really a time when you need to throw deep divers and a-rigs. So in the late fall-early spring keep 50lb braid or 20lb mono on it and in the late spring-Early fall spool back up with 30lb braid

Practice and a daiwa with an sv spool really helps lol- Use of a Medium heavy EXTRA fast?
Would make a nice bottom contact rod. Jigs, texas rigs, pitching, skipping.- Your Fishing Story
I'm gonna be the debbie downer of this thread. Ive been fishing since I was about 4. Love it, its my favorite hobby. About 4 years ago I met the woman who is now my wife. At first she was cool with me fishig once or twice a week. (Usually 1 full day and 1 half day) thats all I had time for anyway with a busy work schedule. But 4 years later, a house, 2 kids, and some disagreements later, I'm lucky to go fishing 3 full days a year. I live vicariously through this site and through pitching and flipping into a coffee can in the yard. Fishing has all but been ruined for me. I am changing that this year regardless of the circumstances. So be smart with what partner you chose and never let them make the decision of "should I go fishing today" because the answer is always yes.- How do boat fishermen really feel about kayak anglers?
Ding ding ding! We have a winner!- Casting Distance Expectations for a newbie
30 yards is plenty with most types of fishing. Accuracy is more important. Pitching I try to stay inside 15 yards, after that I lose accuracy and would be better off side arming in.- Braid to Flouro reccomendations
I'm a fan of 15lb daiwa j-braid x4 with an 8lb seaguar red label leader connected with an Alberto. This year I'm going to test straight fluoro or copoly on my spinning set ups starting out. 6lb hi seas to be exact- Dobyns Rods
I have only fished 1 model of fury. The 735. I fish 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 ounce jigs and 1/4 to 3/4 ounce texas rigged creatures/craws. I believe the rod is rated up to 1.5 ounces. So it runs fairly accurate to my expectations. 3/4 ounce head +hook+weedguard + trailer is gonna be close to 1.25 ounces. 1/2 ounce weight or head plus plastic is sweet spot- Finesse Jig Fishing Tips...???
I can finesse a 3/4 ounce pitching jig and I can pitch/flip a 3/16 ounce "finesse" jig. But thats just me but, my main finesse jigs are 3/8 and under with a finesse cut skirt, medium wire hook, and a smaller trailer. (Chunk, baby menace, etc). I prefer 12-15lb fluoro/copoly or 30lb braid to a 12ish lb leader. 7' Medium or medium heavy moderate fast rod for me. Tatula sv for the reel because I can skip accurately with it.- What gear do you guys recommend for flipping and pitching?
