Custom soft plastic lure creation
What's your end goal with this bait? I go through an outrageous amount of toads in a season. To off set the costs, I save my used plastics and repour them into some molds I made with Durhams water putty. Since I like the Keitech Noisy flapper, I made some molds of those exact baits. I then created some frankenstein type baits by melting different legs onto the Keitech body. I have been working on a keitech body and the legs from a ribbit almost all summer. However, I have not achieved the desired outcome after many attempts. I did make a shakeyhead and neko rig bait that has worked very good. It's a combo of part of a tube and a 6 inch finesse worm. Since the tube part pours solid, no need for additional weight which helps dragging it around the rocks. Nothing I would try to sell or make money off of. It is extremely rewarding to catch something on one of your creations though.

Are there any 6'6" Heavy rods?
I custom make these. lol I have a few 7 foot MH rods that I have broken the first few inches off of. Once I replaced the tip, they fish like a broom stick.

Post a photo a day!
This houseboat flipped over a couple of years ago due to heavy snow on the roof. The marina dragged it into a cove and tied it off. So is it structure, cover or just giant sized litter?

What is the biggest danger a bass boater faces?
Drowning is the biggest danger. I just saw where a guy drowned right at the ramp when launching his boat. The truck was on the ramp door open and the boat was floating not too far off but no boater in sight. They recovered the body a short time later. No PFD. I would rate myself as an above average swimmer, with a pair of trunks and warm water. I really sucked at trying to tread water with a full rain suit, boots and in 50 degree water.

Thoughts on wearing a jersey even if you're not in a competition?
When my wife was getting chemo and lost her hair she wore a pink hat. I did the same and still wear it proudly today. I could care less what anyone else thought about my pink hat or whatever else I'm wearing, what my boat looks like, the vehicle I drive ..... Although I don't personally care for neck tattoo's or those big holes stretching the earlobes, I don't judge someone else for having them

Can bass tell what day of the week it is?
My lake is usually easier to fish during the week because they draw more water, creating more current. This puts bass in more predictable areas and easier to pattern. When they are not drawing water the fish seem to scatter You will hear all the time at the weigh ins teams talking about how they were on them when they prefished during the week, but come tourney day the fish were not there. May not apply to where your fishing but it's another variable that might exist

Elites establishing new characters.
I watch FLW, BASS and MLF. Also watch the college series in both BASS and FLW. I follow the BASS opens as well as the Costa series. Some of the names at the top of BASS have been on these other tours trying to get their break. With the major exodus to MLF, that opened lots of opportunities for these other guys.

Topwater spots, largies, and striper.
Congrats on figuring out some things at a tough lake!! I fish alone a lot and have had to use the braid trick on myself more times than I would like. I'll tie the braid off to something solid like a boat cleat and while pushing down on the hook with the free hand, jerk the hand that has the hook in it the opposite way. Make sure you do this with a lot of force and a little down and away from where you're hooked. Braid trick is great when it comes out cleanly the first time. Having to do it multiple times in a row for one hook doesn't feel so hot. Also if you have to tie off to a tree branch make sure you do it at the base so there is no give or it doesn't break when you pull away from it.

It's the mustache, not even the fish like it.

Can a tackle box get too fat ?
I'll be the one to disagree, seems to be my personality type or character flaw if you will. Except for the flukes and the assassins, none of the above are much the same. Ever tried throwing a popper in the slop? Or how about a spook next to a laydown? Snag city- but a Buzzbait or a frog will come through those areas virtually snag free They are all tools for the right conditions. It is up to us to figure out those conditions on that specific day where we are at. If i was a mechanic i'd want to be the one with a whole snap on tool box filled with various tools and not the guy that has a pair of vice grips, a crescent wrench and a hammer.

After a hard rain
I almost always throw a black buzzbait during the rain unless there is too much wind Not sure where I heard it but have had quite a bit of success doing it Kinda like throwing a spinnerbait on the windy shore line, it just works ....... sometimes

Fantasy Fishing 2019 - Official Thread
The 16 inch limit on largemouth and smallmouth will come into play as well. With a 12 inch limit on spots, you could catch 5 and just barely have 4 lbs.

Retrieval time
I'm never dragging a weightless senko- the reason I throw a weightless anything is the slowness it has on the fall. Wait for it to fall, give it a hop to pull it higher in the water column and let it fall back down If I'm dragging something(jig, texas rig, shakey head) I almost always start with giving it some time to soak after hitting the bottom while I'm watching/feeling the line. As I drag it when I come to something that offers resistance I try to shake it al little and then give it a "pop'. a lot of times the popping will trigger the bass to strike. Watching the last video by @James Niggemeyer you can see him running the line over his finger to feel the bite. I was taught to do this when I was younger and has stuck with me today. Don't see many people that do it anymore

Easiest way to launch and trailer boat alone?
My tourney partner told me this story about taking out a guy he worked with. The guy kept asking what he could do to help. Jim said just grab the plug. About 15 minutes later when the bilge pump started pumping water Jim asked " did you grab the plug?" His buddy from work said I've got it right here and pulled it out of his pocket ?
