Bass fishing has passed me up
My old fishing partner is still chasing the pro angler dream. Last year we went to Chickamauga and were running a dock pattern in the creeks. We would idle by as he was watching his 360 imaging and we only fished docks he "saw" fish on. We caught fish on 8 of ten docks. We tried later in a different creek with traditional sonar and we caught fish on 6 of 20 docks We went back to that same creek and used the 360 imaging and caught fish on 13 of 20 docks. He could point out a piling and call his shot, it was unreal. However, as a tourney tool he was not sold on it. He also said that last year was his worst fishing tournaments as he missed too much time fishing by idling waiting for the perfect situation to show itself on the screen.

MLF confusion
Some of the people are talking about MLF and some people are talking about BPT. Another thing that confuses people is that the old version of MLF was its own thing. No practice, just show up and fish where they took you. At this time to qualify for the cup events, you fished the selects. Now you qualify for the cups thru BPT. The BPT allows you to practice but not share information with other competitors So I believe @N Florida Mike is talking about MLF cups they are showing on the outdoor channel. I have heard this referred to as a clusterf@$!

Bass Pro Tour – Lake Okeechobee, FL
With him being as skilled a fisherman as he is, could this be something done on purpose? Hard for me to believe he can fish 3 straight tourney days and not catch 1 scorable bass. He caught fish in the BASS open ... ... #conspiracytheories

Bass Pro Tour – Lake Okeechobee, FL
*raises hand* Since finding the reverse rig, thats all I do with that bait. I talk about it everywhere I go to. Nobody seems to listen, I dont mind at all.

Partially frozen small lake
I got one of my biggest fish when I casted a vibee/silver buddy onto an ice shelf and let it fall into the open water I also lost a nice fish about 5 casts later as she grabbed the bait and ran it under the ice slicing the line

DIY Portable Livewell
One of the cooler type of DIY livewells will work. Make sure you have bubbler/spray bar as coolers run on the small side compared to livewells When bank fishing are you gonna keep the livewell in the truck bed? Haulin a cooler with 30 gallons of water and 5 fish gets a little heavy to be draggin around.

When do you take hard baits out of their package?
I have 20-30 hard baits still in the package handing on a peg board in the garage. A lot of times I will buy a half dozen lures of the same kind. I actually do this with most of my baits. Sometimes the baits stay in the package for years. I bought a bunch of these to fish the weed mats at Guntersville. I think I used 2 baits and have had 5 packages hanging for 10 years. Sometimes a good idea really isnt

Toledo Bend tracking study bass die.
Thanks @Catt That was informative and gives us insight as to how they conducted the experiment and what the theories are behind the die off. Interesting that the hatcheries noticed a larger kill rate with rapidly cooling water with all strains not just the FL strain

Overactive Livewell
I watched a guy lose a 5lb class fish and it did the same thing- out the livewell and directly into the lake I'll never forget the look of horror on that guys face

Chickamauga tournament delayed
Exactly, in this day and age its crazy that anyone thinks that decisions like this are not money driven. Ever been to a weigh in? It's sponsor booth after sponsor booth all hawking their stuff. Ever been to the weigh in when it was pouring rain and/or cold? It's like a ghost town except for the die hard bassers and the sponsors are all ready getting their money.

Crank bait Fishing Newbie
On a boat or on the bank? I have never fished one from the bank so others might be able to help with that situation. I'm always letting mine bounce of the bottom. Either at a real slow crawl or so that its just banging the tops of the rocks. I do this with shallow square bills to the ones that dive 20+ feet. If I'm fishing and the bottom is 10 feet, I want a crank that runs 12 feet that way i know its hitting the intended area Also get a lure retriever they make some that are telescoping and others that are a big weight that slides down the line. First time I bought one it paid for itself the same day, saving me from losing 2 or 3 baits. I now have 2 because I have had to use my lure retriever to get my lure retriever. lol If you are slow crawling it and it gets stuck, sometimes just giving it slack will allow it to float out of what it is hooked on

Crankbait Finish Protection?
I've used the nail polish trick- didn't last very long Then I tried the hard as nails polish - didn't last very long either Tried the 5 minute epoxy - this worked better but also eventually chipped up So I bought about a dozen more of the same lure. Something about that one specific model brings the fish even with 1/2 the paint chipped off.

Post a photo a day!
I used to pour concrete and worked on roads and bridges. We started pouring a new lane one morning about 2 hours later a lady in a caddy drove thru our pour. We had to replace 280 feet of road as the morning stuff was pretty hard so she only made a couple inches of tire marks but she drove as far as she could with the pedal to the floor throwing concrete everywhere. She also went around the barricades Pretty sure her insurance dropped her My guess would be that car will be totaled out

I didn’t realize........
I still roll with that model too. If it ain't broke .... Us computer users see this on the regular

New Fishing Team
You might want to try an contact someone who already has a team. Maybe send a DM to @everythingthatswims as he's been fishing the college series You might want to reach out to someone on the college side of BASS They may have some tips/tricks/ experience with what you are wanting to do. I see the same college teams fishing both FLW and BASS. School funding ..... That's a tough rock to squeeze water from- possibly look into other sports/activities that are currently receiving funding. Gotta start having some fund raisers- there are a couple local kids that show up at the boat ramp at weigh in time, set up a table and sell whatever they can including boat and car washes with all proceeds going to their high school team. My father in law donated about a dozen rods and reels on a day where it was raining but the kids still showed up. In my experience the bass fishing community is like a brotherhood and the people are willing to help others out. I wish you the best of luck!!

BPT Lake Eufaula
The bass must have caught his scent when he went in for that one yesterday. They have avoided him all day. He might wanna switch deodorant to megastrike
-
BPT Lake Eufaula
Wheeler is running 3 graphs on the front of his boat. One from each major brand is what they said in an earlier broadcast. Forget the sponsorship money, he wants those $100,000 checks

BPT Lake Eufaula

BPT Lake Eufaula
It's been changing the whole week. Yesterday the water was falling , today it's coming back up. Sun finally came out so I expect so bigger fish to be caught the last period

BPT Lake Eufaula
I take back my earlier remarks about the Heavy hitters tourney. I just saw they are paying $25,000 each day of that tourney for the largest bass weighed in each day. There is a lot more money in the Heavy Hitters tourney than a regular event. I do agree everyone should have the same chances of qualifying for this special event
