  1. To me that looks legit. I always check the seller and in this case its sportsmans outfitters and they have completed 62,704 transactions and have maintained a 99.8% feedback rating. It also states that the reel is new. I would have complete confidence of buying that reel
  2. My daughter is 17 and she can change a tire. I bought a small floor jack and mounted it in the trunk to make the job easier. She had to change her friends tire after a basketball game. Said there was a crowd of about 10 people watching, boys and girls. To me its a parenting thing - you spend the time to teach and they will learn
  3. Thats Awesome and thanks for the share!!
  4. Seriously, with their heavy focus on social media I expected short clips sent in by the anglers and edited into a wishing you the best video. In reality, its probably because he doesn't fish Duckett rods
  5. I think @Glenn has a video describing this
  6. Hoping you catch a giant at the Chick!! Great that you are getting out
  7. I think as an athlete you learn how to handle performing while fatigued. This is learned thru many years of practice and applied in competition. As you fatigue your technique can get a little sloppy, your concentration not as good and that is when you pay less attention, miss strikes, use half arsed hooksets, try horsing the fish to the boat .. ... ... .... It's always been my belief that having better cardio/endurance will give you an advantage Ask any pitcher and they'll tell you they can throw 9 innings The ones with the best cardio will be better at it more consistently. Now, you'll have exceptions in all sports some guys are just superstars (David Wells for example)
  8. The cup contestants for next year are determined by the standings from this years BPT. So probably delayed like everything else, but have not heard them cancelling anything as of yet
  9. We call em "stick fish" around here and they fight pretty good til you can see em
  10. I think you answered yourself with your last statement. When I have been catching them in an area and a cold front rolls in, I fish the first break leading to that area. The colder the water the more vertical of a break seems to be better for me. A lot of times I will find them suspended over the break not right up on it. Largies will be right on the break, smallies like to suspend over that open water in my experience
  11. Days where I'm catching fish are days where past lessons have benefited. Days not catching fish are lessons I still need to learn. The more lessons I learn the more chances I have of being more successful I've been involved with sports my whole life. Fishing allows that competitive fire to continue to burn. Now its just me VS the bass Except I get to cheat and use a boat, sonar, rod, reel, food imitating lures .... Sometimes I eat humble pie, sometimes they get a hook in the mouth
  12. The Marling Baits- will I catch a bass on a block of wood video says it all
  13. If I'm throwing trebles, I'm using the net Also, ouch!!
  14. With a smaller boat- maps are your friend. Find boats ramps near the areas you want to access. I have a 16 foot Crestliner with a 25HP and I take it on all the TVA lakes. I try to be smart about it too. I'm not trying to run the main channel at 1pm on the weekend. Too much traffic, too many boats bigger than mine, too many jet ski's and wake boarders.
  15. I've been catching them on top pretty consistently once the water hit 55. Got my first topwater bite at 49 but didn't land my first topwater until it hit 51 Water was 58 last weekend and I got about a dozen on a toad Sat, missed about a dozen more On Sunday I had to switch to a popper as they were short striking the toad and wanted it a little slower I caught nothing over 2 1/2 lbs but probably had 30 blowups between the 2 days My tourney partner was fishing a different area of the lake throwing a jerkbait and said he could have weighed 17-18 on Sat and about 12 lbs on Sunday. He said he got 7 bites on Saturday and 5 on Sunday I think all the fish I was catching were smaller males on the move shallow looking for bedding spots
  16. When I was still tourney fishing, I bought a bunch of baits from the Zipper worm company Still have a few of their various baits and liked them all Not a round worm though https://fishingcompleteinc.com/collections/soft-plastics-1
  17. I think I ordered something from Doc Brown and Marty They sent it on the 6th and I'm gonna get it on the 4th
  18. Poison Ivy and me have had a long history. I've already had it twice this year. I used to work winters for a tree company. One year we cut down a tree with ivy growing all down the trunk. One of the older guys said you gotta take the dishwasher thing and scrub the ivy off. Then use something like bleach to kill it off. I took one of those green scrub pads and went to town scrubbing my arms up and down. Only had floral scented bleach but said screw it. 2 days later I had poison ivy all up and down my forearms along with the skin tore up from scrubbing. Next idiot move.... gasoline I figured this would dry up the poison ivy so I poured it over both arms 2 days later and I go to the doctor My forearms swelled to Popeye proportions, turned a bright pink and extremely painful. So they give me a steroid shot and treat me for chemical burn on my arms Seems like I choose to learn lessons the hard way, dont be like me Also old timer with the tree company said he was talking about a sponge not the green scotch pad #headslap
  19. I saw a video of the annual walleye run on the Maumee river in Ohio, lets say I dont think they were practicing social distancing.
  20. For an Epic fail thread, the gifs are lacking
  21. I agree with @Bluebasser86 When I fished electric motor only tourneys we ran a 101 up front and an 80 in the back Then I bit the bullet and we ran 2 101's on a 16 foot Crestliner We did not pick up as much speed as i would have liked with the second 101 Probably the extra weight of the 6th battery and the 101 However, we ran around all over the place all day without ever having to worry about having enough juice to make it
  22. There is the punish method- Do 20 push ups every time you set the hook too fast Get a leather flogger and give yourself a couple whips everytime you set it too fast There's the reward method- Have a cookie each time you wait to set the hook Buy yourself a new lure each time you wait to set the hook On a side note your choice will let us know what generation you're from lol
  23. The tip that helped me was to make sure I was trying to skip something heavy enough Since I throw toads a bunch, I used those to practice They're pretty flat, have enough plastic to give them weight and can be rigged weedless I practice pitching at least 3 times a week and just incorporated skipping into my routine I'll open the garage door a little and skip under the door You can raise or lower the door and adjust your distance to it Everytime I miss, I picture my lure getting "Rejected"
  24. I carry a bunch of stuff in the boat, way too much stuff But April thru Oct I usually only throw 2 baits- A toad and a senko reverse rigged I'm all about that topwater blow up, but not dumb enough that I'll pass by flippin a laydown or some bushes
