What Have We Become ?
I've seen this list before and can agree with some of the things but individual circumstances differ. I know A-Jay is retired, having the money to do so creates extra time that can be spent with your loved ones. My grandfather died working in the mines 10 years after he should have retired to pay for my cancer stricken grandmother. He just wanted her to be better, she just wanted to spend time with him, they both lost. I'm a huge fight fan an just watched a piece of the life story of UFC fighter Francis Ngannou. In this part of his story you hear about how he made it from Africa to Paris. When he got to Paris, he didn't like the negativity in the homeless shelter so he went to sleep in a parking garage. He said that was the happiest he had ever been in his life. Kinda puts things in perspective when the best part of his life was being homeless and sleeping in a parking garage. *** curse word warning*** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy5zrFtvK_o

Preparation for a tournament
Nope, just pay the entry fee. The weigh ins are run professionally. there are 2 weigh in tanks and a release tank all are oxygenated and treated with sure life The director announces each team as they come to weigh in table. And the fish are then moved to the release tanks. https://dobass.smugmug.com/2020-KSU-LaDO-Q1/

Preparation for a tournament
Hi Mike, Welcome to bass resource!! I used to live near Cleveland(small town Mantua) I got a lot of experience fishing the Dobass series. It's an electric motor only tourney where they fish LaDue reservoir. It is run by the Kent State fishing team now. (dobass.com) That tourney director also hosts 5 $10,000 events in a series called NOAA. They started with just having 1 big tourney called Mosquito Madness. Now they have 5 and a Championship at lake Chautauqua in NY. Well they did until Covid 19 came along. They(dobass) are also connected with the Vic's sporting center. Run by former FLW pro Vic Vatalaro and family They also have a fishing trail called the X-series.

Need help frog fishing.
I'll agree seems like there are times when they just smack the toad but dont eat it. Thats when I like to employ the alabama shake to the toad. The legs are still creating a disturbance but now the entire toad is moving left, right, stopping and going This allows the bait to stay near the target/ in the strike zone longer My wrist and forearm hate that I use this technique though

Need help frog fishing.
From Dean Rojas : Hookset mechanics You’ve probably had this debate with your fishing buddies at some point. Once a big bass explodes on your frog, do you purposely hesitate for a half-second or set the hook right away? The conundrum has been around since the inception of frog fishing and Rojas has a definite preference. “I hit ‘em as soon as I see ‘em,” Rojas said. “I do end up pulling it away from them at times, but that’s not always a bad thing. When they miss it, they’ll often open up a hole in the cover which gives you a specific target to make another cast towards—they’ll usually eat it again. I’d rather totally whiff on the hookset than halfway stick them and ruin my chances of fooling them again.”

MLF-Sturgeon Bay
Ish just caught a 2lber, it dropped to the carpet as he was trying to get the hook out with his pliers. Then he just wrapped the line around his hand and broke the line, so much for fish care lol I understand these thing happen, but you have to be aware that the camera is on you

In what application(s), would you need a reel with 8.1:1 gear ratio?
When I was searching for a specific type of reel, I was amazed that someones 7.1 would reel in 2 inches per turn more than another reel. Also depending on how full the spool is also affects the inches per turn

Giving props to our southern anglers!
I've lived in TN now for the last 9 years. Not one summer has been worse than any I experienced living in Ohio. The humidity is the killer for me. I dont miss the days where it was 90 during the day and 85 at night.

Ole Ike is putting on a show. He's pulling off line by hand, tossed a rod in the water and dropped some curse words All while landing some nice fish.

Please help
You've already determined your answer. You're around fsh if you're catching lots of them. Have you used larger baits in the areas you are catching the smaller ones? Dont expect as many bites but you might be able to trigger the larger fish. Have you tried flipping something heavy in the thickest parts of the weeds? Heat, tourney pressure can cause the fish to get tight to cover in the least accessible spots

Glad to see Aaron Martens back at it after brain surgery

Massive Leak
Glad you found the issue

Best technique for very shallow pond with grass/weeds
I'm a toad guy so that would be me. I'd follow up with a nail weighted stick bait. Option 3 would be a swim jig doing the hippy hippy alabama shake

Chances a lure is still in a log the next day?
I snagged a very good crankbait on a standing tree. Using my trusty lure retriever for about 10 minutes, it also got hung up in this brush pile. I tied the rope off and a week later, I used a second lure retriever to get the first one and my crankbait A log bouncing around in the open waves might not hold as tight. I found a chatterbait and it was all rusted at the hook eye. I was able to sand and file the rust off and its been working well, maybe even better as now the gap at the eye hole is a little bigger I'm positive at some point this lure will break at this eye but I'm gonna ride it out until it does (2+ years now)

Boyd's still recovering from dumping all that cash at Heavy Hitters a couple of weeks ago.

Clear this up regarding deep cranking
What about sweeping the rod as you crank, creating greater pressure on the lip causing it to dive faster to its maximun depth?

Fishing plastics, why the long pause
Theres only one bait I ever gut hook a fish on and that is a plastic worm. If I feel the bite, presume to have felt the bite, think it might have been a bite, hoped it was a bite... I'm setting the hook- hard and fast

Wheeler
Yeah, that guy is gonna win a bunch more money. He just keeps getting better and better.

Lightning strikes! Fishing tops the list

How to fish a swim jig?
In this video you can see Jason Christie makes flips with his swim jig and "alabama shakes" it by the cover Notice the chocolate milk color of the water, thats why the shake will get more bites than the straight retrieve IMO The clearer the water the less shaking seems to effective for me https://video.bassmaster.com/detail/videos/2017/video/5453609158001/jason-christie-s-2014-win-at-lake-dardanelle
