  1. I saw in a BPT tourney earlier this year, Todd Faircloth said he still uses a toothpick. He said something like he only pegs when fishing heavy cover so his line could handle the toothpick without damage and that he also reties often
  2. I think WRB has the details as he used to make his own pork trailers
  3. Fishing is a journey that you keep adding pieces of the puzzle to. The problem is that puzzle changes on a daily basis and we need to rearrange the pieces accordingly The more time you spend collecting pieces, the better chances you have to complete the puzzle Having some sort of plan is the key to putting the pieces together with the best chance for efficiency Like starting with all the flat sided border pieces, or starting with like colors- having a plan is better than randomly hoping 2 pieces go together Fishing is a game that keeps going - enjoy your time playing and try to teach someone else about it's joys P.S. Just dont tell them about the bait monkey- gotta learn the hard way with that beast
  4. That was freakin' awesome!! I loved that he told that guy to drive right at him, use the big motor and to hurry up and come on with it. hahaha
  5. I'm gonna go with Justin Adkins - I liked his skills while fishing beds - excellent caster barely making a noise or splash on entry. Keith Poche caught them - but I was really surprised that his splash technique when casting/pitching was so successful
  6. Different front office - Same old Browns Overpaid for a receiving TE, when the QB was sacked 60 times last year. It dont matter how good the receivers are , if you cant get them the ball.
  7. So many people get caught up in "what" bait, when "what" area is most important IMO
  8. Nets are like live bait; cheating. lol Half the catch is the landing of the fish; play it and lip it or swing it at your own risk. Just ask Michael Neal .... Although scrambling to get the 8 foot net(see flw) produces it's own drama
  9. Last day on Lake Fork then the championship day at Lake Athens Some big fish caught all week
  10. What is the brand name if you dont mind me asking?
  11. The more I watch him, the more I think Mr. Sprague might have an anger issue Last year there were a few times he looked like he was about to snap a rod over his leg I also saw him bark at his official over the scale not being ready fast enough for Mr Spragues liking
  12. Thats horrible for something new
  13. March 13, 2020, 2:20 p.m. ET MIAMI — The mayor of a major American city communicated with the citizenry via video on a big screen at City Hall to deliver frightening news. He was placing himself in isolation in case he had contracted the coronavirus. By the next day, his test results were in. Mayor Francis Suarez of Miami became on Friday one of the first American elected officials to confirm he has Covid-19. Mr. Suarez, 42, was tested after having come in close contact earlier this week with a top adviser to President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil who disclosed his coronavirus diagnosis on Thursday. A delegation from the South American country had visited Florida and also met with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his Palm Beach estate. The White House has said Mr. Trump does not need to be tested.
  14. Bass Pro tour is on Lake Fork - some of the fish are spawning there https://majorleaguefishing.com/event/2020-bass-pro-tour-stage-three-lake-fork-emory-tx/ Might be able to get an idea of what the pro's are doing this time of year in that area
  15. My first experience with a bladed jig was the Eaker Shaker You could tie it to any type of jig head
  16. 5 or 6 inch - I use the reverse rig 95% of the time throwing it I mainly target laydowns and the reverse rig allows you to climb it over a limb and have it fall back towards the trunk Instead of it falling towards the boat with a texas rig I also catch quite a few where I'm just barely dragging it, again nail weight at the bottom
  17. I fish toads a lot. I mean a lot. I fell in love with the noisy flapper. However, it seems that the differences in the commotion do make a difference. Last year, I caught twice as many fish on a humpin' toad as I did the others. The first year I started fishing toads hardcore, the horny toad and rage toad were most successful. I have been surprised many times by casting to a spot 3-4 times with one toad and no bites and then switch to another and get bit. I ask the fish if it was the bait or did they just get aggravated ... They shake their heads yes than no and I got to let them go still not knowing why?
  18. I guess you had a tarp-on Also nice fish!!
  19. I found a video made last year.
  20. That is an Alabama hotel, if you wake up with any bugs on you ... free continental breakfast
  21. He won here last year, however that was June I think. He's a good stick so dont count him out. Probably should add Good Stick to the fishing lingo page You dont want to be labeled a bad stick
  22. I spent a week taking pics of pics so that we could save them on a hard drive. Photo editing programs can sometimes work magic on old photos.
  23. Whats stopping someone from tying off a fish and snagging it later? Some rules are made to stop a cheater and the rest of us have to live with it Sure you could have just dropped the largest fish from their catch. This opens the door for a cheater to do this with more than 1 fish. In my opinion rules have to be set in stone, if you give someone the ability to use their discretion when interpreting a rule. You are opening the door for some favoritism to possibly come into play.
  24. I did this awhile ago and the first event the co-angler that I got paired with did not have a boater so we were able to link together for the remainder of the events. The following year I found a local fishing site and was able to hook up with a co-angler from there You could reach out to the tourney director to see if they have extra co anglers. I fished a few where there were more co's than pro's which would make it easy. I also have seen the flip side where two boaters get paired and that situation would stink
