  1. George, I don't know how you do it. The heat doesn't seem to bother you during these day trips. Have you or do you ever fish the farm at night, even though it's not much cooler?
  2. I used to golf 2x a week on average. I gave it up when I got married and use it as an excuse to justify buying a boat, more rods and reels. When the wife says "$800 for another combo" then I say "babe, you're right. I'll start golfing again. $150 a pop for greens fee in season at twice a week is $300. Plus the clothes, balls, tips, food, etc." She then comes to her senses and backs off.
  3. I don't believe so :'(, but I am. Only one person in the boat needs to be 1st responder so you can fish with me if they ever start it up again. It was a blast. They had very good turnouts and the raffle prizes were good, and the BBQ. Gartracker- Yea, had some good times then. Maybe I'll e-mail the Sheriff over there and tell him to start it up again. Although I'm sure it's not the same Sheriff as back then.
  4. I have the BCR 853 GLX 7'1 and is an awesome rod. I use 1/4-1/2 ounce jigs and worms. I fish it in grass but it's not a flippin stick. It's a worm rod. I say this. Push the rod to it's limits and beyond. Fish it like you'd drive a Ferrari, hard. Don't baby it. If it breaks, for ANY reason, then send it back.
  5. Beavers are quite tasty to a variety of species.
  6. X2 Parm./Garlic fries are the bomb too.
  7. What's that behind you? My boat drifting off the trailer into the middle of the lake while I sit in my truck eating lunch. DOH!
  8. Thanks Gartracker. They did have a big BBQ and raffle afterwards.. Too bad they don't do it anymore. Thanks again for the help. Doug.
  9. Do wild shiners and bluegills count as swimbaits? ;D
  10. Slow down Daniel, we have enough crazy UPS drivers. ;D Awesome day LBH.
  11. WOW, that has to be one of your better outings. Speaking of ladyfish, use a live ladyfish for snook bait and tie your asss to the bridge because I guarantee you're gonna have one heck of a fight.
  12. Come on Paul, let's get real. Did you actually think YOU wouldn't produce with that bait? I think the bigguns hit your lures out of fear. I can't wait to see what you do when pre-spawn gets here.
  13. Is he saying the E21's are of less quality then originally advertised? False advertisement or scam? Very interesting and good for him if it's true.

I'll be 42 in August and couldn't run around the block if I had to. My cardiovascular SUCKS. I was in extreme shape in my teens an 20's because of college baseball but that is a thing of the past. I desperately need to get back into some sort of shape. A few people at work are using the p90x with great results but they were in good shape before starting.
  15. Very simple. Only need 3 rods/baits here: Zaraspook, crankbait and T-rig worm. I would start with the spook for a good half hour to 45 min. If no fish then switch to the crankbait. I would throw the crankbait for 1/2 hour and if no takers then go to the worm. I'd give the worm a solid hour. By now it would be 8:30-9:00 O'clock and if I haven't produced then I'm going home. In fact, I'd be going home regardless if they were biting or not.
  16. I use a 8-10" worm with a 1/8-3/16 tru-tungsten worm weight. I use this same rig in the day time too. Some people like to insert a rattle into the worm but I don't. Another option is to put a glass bead between the weight and hook. I think the bead and weight puts of more noise. I have also been doing okay with a black/blue speck senko. I fish it weightless or put a splitshot about a foot above the hook. I use it with #8-10 mono.(forget which # line I have on my reel, I think it's #8)

Has anyone tried this workout program and if so, how is it?
  18. Throw the same thing at night as in the day. BUT, I tend to throw the spinnerbait and Zaraspook a little more at night. 8-10" worm works well too but fish it slow.
  19. That would be great if you could find out for me.
  20. There used to be a yearly tournament held out at the Okee Tantie marina back in the late 80's to mid 90's. The tournament was for first responders such as law enforcement, fire rescue, emt's, etc. One of the persons had to be a first responder. I fished those tourny's 4 years straight and quit when I sold my boat. I forget the name of the tourny or who actually put them on. I tried googling it but came up empty. Does anyone remember these tourny's or know if they still have them? Thanks, Doug.
  21. That really sucks. Make sure you pick up where he left off with the kindness.
  22. Looks like she needs to fart or be burped.
  23. Pleas move this to the tackle section...
