  1. I think people tend to be hard on the E6x rod for some reason. The redesigned rods are great, I didn’t like the first gen much though. Mbr and JWR tapers are my favorites, and would never complain about fishing an E6x version of them. I mostly fish imx and glx but slide right over, and feel right at home.
  2. Great rods. I have the 782c mbr. Excellent for lighter baits.
  3. My favorite would be an IMX-Pro 852jwr, but it’s out of your budget. My second would be a Dobyns 702c. I love the 702, it’s great for all sorts of things.
  4. Another vote for year round, but I always use a 3.5" on a belly weighted hook/underspin in the prespawn. In my lakes the shad are small, and they love it.
  5. Have some patience with Tackle Warehouse people. It may be taking longer than usual, but they are staying safe.
  6. Just picked up a Phenix Feather 71L. 7’1” light power, fast action rod. I love it so far.
  7. I always bought the tan Cabelas’s brand breathable stocking foot waders. I’m not sure if BPS changed them, but they were fantastic, and about $140
  8. I had my Phenix light show up today right before leaving to go fishing. I set up a total weight 7 g ned/shaky head and took it with me. Good timing for once! I caught a bunch of bass on it, the biggest was 1 3/4lbs. Thanks for the recommendation, it's exactly what I wanted. It similar in action and power to the Shimano Sensilite, BUT way way way nicer, and sensitive. I'm impressed with Phenix Rods now. It was windy, I tried a 3/16oz first but it was not staying on the bottom, but it did cast very well too.
  9. Switch the circle hooks for VMC Neko hooks, you'll never miss another bass!
  10. If you use a screw lock hook the Swammers last quite a while. I've had a few go 10-15 bass.
  11. That's a favorite of yours huh? I'm thinking about it now, since I don't think I will enjoy the solid tip on the Dobyns. I'm looking for a casting rod for 3/32oz Neds, 1/8oz grubs, and small crankbaits, do you think the Feather 7'1" would fit the bill? Is the fast tip pretty light? I had a Shimano Sensilite rod but it had a problem with the guides, they were roughing up my line so I returned it. I liked the rod quite a bit, just not the guides. There doesn't seem to be many choices out there for a light power casting rod for bass. I'm not really interested in casting the lightest baits, 1/32 or 1/16.
  12. I never wet my FG knots.
  13. I have a 7' on order. AL said they are about 10 days away from getting them in.
  14. I meant to write RP knot. Flipped the letters around.
  15. Is this the knot also referred to as the Crazy Alberto, and RP knot?
  16. What's that you say? I've never heard of such thing. Are you referring to a fly rod style taper?
  17. I find PP V2 the exact opposite of your description. Been using it for years.
  18. I agree. Also Sufix 832 is pretty smooth too.
  19. I’ve read that most people feel those Cashion rods are on the heavy side. I’ve never held one, so I can say myself. I like the look of the grips on them.
  20. True. I’ve caught lots of small to large fish with a dressed #1 Aglia. A few 35” pike, 20” smb, and a 22” lmb.
  21. I'd switch to the San Diego Jam knot as others have said. It's very easy to tie with FC. There are less possible things to go wrong. The Palomar knot can break itself if the line doesn't line up perfectly on the lure.
