It's fantastic line, but a little expensive for me. I get it when on sale.

I was recently on a fairly busy lake, fishing from a boat. The water was down a little from usual, allowing more visuals of cover that would normally be hidden from sight. I was having a pretty good day using a jig fishing some newly found cover. One thing though, I pulled up about 300' of old line from other fishermen/women's snags. I pulled up some T rigs, old rusty spinners, and a rapala crank. The thing that was strange was all of them had about 40-60' of line attached. These were all being fished from a boat according to where the locations were, so who ever snagged could have gone over and undone their snag, or at least limited the amount of line left hanging in the water. This has happened to me two other times at this lake. I always make it point to limit my line if I can't get it unsnagged. I hope you boat anglers do the same.

I use PP and PP Super Slick V2 and like them both. I was looking for an 8 braid that was as good as V2 but cheaper. Maybe the grand is the way to go?

Anyone have experience with this line? Use an FG knot with it?

I regularly use original Power Pro in 8lb which is super thin, and never have any problems. I usually use a 6 or 8lb fluoro leader. It's my main ned rig set up.

With swim jigs, you have a big single hook and a weed guard to deal with. I set the hook hard. When you have a bite swing.

Are you saying the Elite casts lighter lures better than the SV tws?

The 7'1" MH JWR is a great rod. Very versatile, with a great taper. I have a 6'8" JWR M rod, it's also very versatile but for lighter applications in less cover. You will dig your new rod. Ignore the e6x haters. Once you actually fish with it, you will see how nice they are.

I see Dobyns has a Fury 735c listed for small swimbaits, and frogs. I figured the 705c would do both ok too. I'm not an avid swimbait guy, just want something to throw an S-Waver 168 on sometimes. My frogging isn't crazy deep heavy cover fishing either, more moderate weeds.

I haven’t. The dock knocker and finesse flip are the others I use, and they have a great hook up ratio, and are great designs too.

Another Boss jig head user here. I prefer the standard Boss Swim Jig heads. They are very balanced, and have a great Mustad hook, with a well designed trailer keeper too. Boss skirts are killer too. Around $2.70 a jig! 1/4 and 3/8oz are all I use.

The only fluoro I use is Red Label, I find it to be a very strong line. Never have any issues with it. Flouro requires perfectly tied knots, it sounds like you are failing to get a good knot. I never had much luck with the Palomar and flouro, IMO it's a weak knot with FC. I switched to these two and now I'm solid, try them>

To your question, for your set up I would recommend 15 or 20lb braid to 12lb leader.

The Tatula LT 3000CXH has the same line capacity as the 2000 LT but with a much wider spool.The advantage is that the coils coming off your spool will be wider because of the spool size. You will have less tangles,and over all line management will be better. I use both reels, and love them both. I never have any issues with any of the 4 I have (2-2000 and 2-3000) All are loaded with 8lb and 15lb Power Pro. The bodies of the two reels are pretty close in size, but the handle on the 3000 has a T handle and a little longer length handle. Great reels.Bass fishing doesn't require lots of line capacity.

E6x MBR is a great rod. You can do so much with it. I am partial to the 843c (7') most presentations, and the 782c (6'6") for lighter stuff

I use my reel for LMB, SMB, and medium sized pike which do not make long extended runs. With 15lb braid there is more than enough room on the shallow spool, and it saves money by using less line.
