  1. Set to max, 1/4 turn back......... Except frogging.
  2. There are injured and dying baitfish all year long........ jerkbaits work all year long. It's just that sometimes other baits get more bites.
  3. I have the same setup on my SS127. SI works great with no complaints at all.
  4. I'm still waiting on my Tatsu order from TW. I'm looking to give it a go on my jig rod.
  5. I never liked the way my 127 laid on my C-Tug so went with the Wilderness. I know you don't want to spend that much.........but.
  6. My buzzbaits go in a worm binder with my spinnerbaits.
  7. I don't. I use the 3600 Plano Edge terminal. Wayyyyyy easier that way.
  8. One time I snapped a line on the cast that caused a minor backlash. I had to cut a bit of line and as I ran it through the guides sitting in my kayak I somehow forgot to run it through the line guide on the reel! Fished all day like that before noticing line was spooling very unevenly. lol
  9. Thankfully I ordered several Shad and Bluegill over the winter since they seem to be done now.
  10. I went from a Bass Raider to a kayak 5 years ago and never looked back. I've never even seen a Topwater so I can't comment on that but welcome to the club.
  11. I keep colors to a minimum. I have all my plastics contained in two 3700 Plano boxes. I bring enough of each for a few trips in case I hit on a hot color and don't want to run out.
  12. I've never had the reel ice up but I've had the guides ice up. I dip the rod in the water for a second and am good to go. It's usually just the top two guides.
  13. I use a Tatula Elite, one on a Levante Flatside Special, the other on an OrochiXX Swingfire...... The reel does what it's supposed to and is quite balanced with those rods.
  14. I use JJ's. Not always but more often than not. Does it help, no idea. A bottle is a couple of bucks and lasts me all summer if I don't spill it so why not.
  15. I use my side imaging to get a wide view of what's down there, the down to get more specific. Hmm, That's like asking which of my kids I like better.......
  16. I don't plug any of the scupper holes. Haven't sunk yet.
  17. I fish a lot of very clear water quarries.......some are strip quarries that aren't very deep, some are.......some are somewhere in between. The constant is the water clarity. I'm not a total believer in line shy bass but hey, I'm not a total non believer. Prior to this try I'm a braid guy. Plus, I love tinkering with stuff..........change this, change that, change back..........lol
  18. Went out for a short time on Tuesday to try the new FC with a crankbait....no issues at all. Casts great and no backlash. I even turned the brakes back down every few casts......... I spooled the rest of it on my jerkbait rod/reel and will have both rods out tomorrow. I'll probably purchase another spool for my other crankbait reel and maybe put some on my swim jig/chatterbait rod too.
  19. Yes, the boring old swim jig...........
  20. I have a few new ones, my plan is to try them in some clear water quarries I fish. My first attempt will be like a bottom contact jig but sort of swimming it more along the bottom.
  21. Same here, I usually get almost all the way down to the seat and the last few inches is a plop......lol
  22. I have a Bixby but paddle quite a bit too. I do not have the wings.
