  1. You'll be happier with the Mojo.
  2. Tons of options, in all sorts of price ranges. I have a MegaBass OrochiXX Swingfire that excels at that particular weight range.
  3. I use mainly 3/8 oz spinnerbaits then the added trailer.......I feel the fast action casts that weight a little better.
  4. I use 20 lb braid with a 4 foot or so mono leader.
  5. I went out a couple times last year with the mindset to switch lures every two bass. I actually did better than expected both times!
  6. I'd go with a Tatula Elite. I can't imagine ever needing to cast lures further than I'm able with this. But rod also is a large contributing factor of course.
  7. Sometimes the bass don't follow our logic. Two summers ago at my main go to water it was all swim jig and could hardly ever buy a bite on a chatter, last summer on the same water it was all chatter and I could hardly buy a bite on a swim jig. Often I had both tied on and would alternate.
  8. The ice just cleared here within the last two days. I'm going out Saturday and have these in my "short list" box under my kayak seat..... Squarebill Flatsided crank Lipless I'll probably have a lipless and a flatside on rods when I hit the water and will follow my gut as well as water clarity. I have confidence in both at the moment.
  9. I had that exact rod a few years ago. It felt more like a Moderate power rod to me, maybe leaning a bit towards MH but not quite there. I used it for squarebills and weightless plastics.
  10. I love swim jigs and fish them all the time. The only time I switch it up is if it's cloudy skies, rain, or real low vis water, then it's a chatterbait, or real clear water then it's an underspin. But I will switch back to the straight swim jig if the others aren't working.
  11. As stated a MH/Fast is the most versatile. If I had only three it would be 2 MH/Fast rods for anything and evverything, mainly jigs, spinnerbaits, t-rigs 1 M/Mod rod mainly treble bait hook lures like cranks, jerks, poppers 1 H/Fast rod for the slop, hollow body frogs, punching, ripping a swim jig through the weeds
  12. I use a MegaBass OrochiXX Braillist. May switch to a Perfect Pitch though for a bit more backbone.
  13. Camo, green, our something fluorescent. It all usually turns to grey after awhile.
  14. My success rate is horrible even from a kayak. Most of my attempts end up donating the retriever to the same object my lure is stuck on.
  15. I just bought a few a couple weeks ago from TW.
  16. I fish almost every day once the weather allows and I'm off work for the summer. Mine stay on until they aren't usable. Hopefully that's a few hours or so rather than days! LOL
  17. Ahhh, the beauty of having all the same reels but in different gear ratios....... I over analyze so this removes me doing that from the equation. LOL
  18. I'd go with the Seaghost I had one for a year, It was a smooth paddling kayak, not the most stable of any I've owned and hated the center counsel.......took up way too much room. But of the two, that's the one I'd buy.
  19. I also have some 12 lb Tatsu I'm going to try on one of my crankbait setups. I tried FC a few years ago and hated it. But I'm sure I tried something cheaper. Maybe this will change my mind about FC.
  20. Windy, or cloudy, or stained to dirty water is where I go to a spinnerbait. Never had much success with them in clear water and high skies. Underspins work great for me in clear water and in sunny skies.
  21. I wouldn't use a Med rod for a single hook bait like a spinner. I use a MegaBass OrochiXX SpecR and love it. I use the same rod for swim jigs, chatterbaits, underspins..
  22. I skip with the Elite. I love the SV TW's also but think it's worth the few extra $$'s for the Elite.
  23. I've only done it on my Daiwa's and not all of them. Straight out of the box I check the spools and bearings. About one out of every three seems dry so I add a bit of oil.
  24. Swim jigs are one of my most successful baits. I use them in all types of water as far as vegetation and clarity. I tend to use them more around vegetation, especially if I can't get a chatterbait or underspin through it. But then again, and chatterbait and underspin are both pretty much swim jigs.
  25. Nope, it's KNOT like tying fishing knots is that difficult...... Haha, see what I did there!
