Plano Edge or other ideas
If you do go the silica pack route, these are the perfect size. 200 for $10. For a 3700 size box I usually spread out 6-8 packets across the bottom. I'll replace them every year or every other year. https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Packets-Premium-Desiccant-Dehumidifiers/dp/B00E880DYS/ref=sr_1_3_pp?crid=1JZ7MDSMHQKYD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.X1ydbBRYp4hHW0oTb3T7qerkknGYYP2RveFR-g2z5l-JKVsGyVgusX2K3hytyoZnS4yhLap40HESdYYgJgnGnvMjNJgRoHnx09ttWo2K0bfYjzz70S2j9iyaJ01W15ZIuXAN-G-W7LUF0o3bMkwHodSH5lRMGBMSVLYzG5IQW2i76qBq_j_vfWI_abzle1WhskSP1O2rYT06uXejozH9gPjJ4-kfSHHmSddKyVRQYWw.Cwdu2YN1u5ckJmmmw8xgKTWjh9NiFmR8fyX8KZXWbi8&dib_tag=se&keywords=silica+gel+packets&qid=1741130071&sprefix=silica%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-3

Plano Edge or other ideas
I like the idea of the Edge boxes, but the cost and weight of them turned me off. I just use regular Plano 3700's etc and put 1 gram silica gel packets in them. I just make sure I don't put any lures away wet and I never have any rust issues.

A question and a tip.
Good to know. Not that I do it often but figured as long as the spool isn't turning it isn't putting any stress on the drag because my thumb is applying all the pressure. I mostly do it while punching pads and I get hug up. I just point at it, thumb my spool and give it a quick yank.

A question and a tip.
If I have no choice but to break the line, I'll point the rod in the direction of the snag and pull straight back (while thumbing the spool if the drag isn't cranked down). Usually it'll break at the knot. I hate when people clip the line at the rod/reel, leaving all this long line in the water, waiting for a prop to come along and pick it up. (edit-or did I read your question wrong...do you mean cutting a backlash out?)

Am I missing anything?
If that 7' MH/F feels more like a MH/MF, then you could throw cranks/lipless cranks on it. And I'd stay closer to the 15# fluoro than the 20#.

Okuma X rods are Amazing thread talk
These rods are amazing. Super light, quality components, very sensitive. And to top it all off they look amazing. I really hope they're doing well for them. I have the 7'3 MH which weighs in at 4.05 oz and the 7'6 heavy, which comes in at 4.37 oz. For comparison, the 7'2 MH Expride B weighs 4.28 oz.

What are your favorite Bladed Jig trailers and what conditions do you fish them?
A trailer I forgot about that I just started using at the end of last season...the 6th Sense Bamboosa 5.3 worm. I only used it on two outings. First time using it I trimmed it down and threaded it on. My bladed jig hunted like I've never seen before. It was wild. More so than when I use the Fluke or Spunk Shad. Second outing I put another one on. This time it didn't hunt like the first time. So I'm guessing it really depends on the exact length that you trim the worm down to.

Or if I'm fishing murky/stained water, I'll go right to black/blue bait/trailer. Still has the bluegill profile but it stands out more in the dirty water.

What are your favorite Bladed Jig trailers and what conditions do you fish them?
The 4" Z-Man DieZel MinnowZ has always been my best producer, but there are many good ones on the market. Many which have already been mentioned. I usually don't like paddletail trailers on my bladed jigs, but this is the exception. This doesn't have the aggressive kick of a Keitech. And it lasts a long time. The 4.2 Pro Point Lures Machete Minnow has also been a new favorite of mine. They do make a smaller one that fits the MiniMax. And a Rage Menace rigged vertically is another good option.

My Nemesis, RUST!
As others have mentioned, the silica gel packets work great. I just throw maybe 8 or so in each box. I do it with terminal tackle, all hard baits, jigs. Never had any rust since using them. And I just use regular plain Plano 3700's etc. Nothing fancy. But I also never put a bait away if it's still wet. 1 gram fits perfectly and they're super cheap. https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Packets-Premium-Desiccant-Dehumidifiers/dp/B00E880DYS/ref=sr_1_3_pp?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.IHP2cXtIxpVE7CBIUl9SJtHA3lHjIXnkl4F7z1CHpHoAMSevE-UKereHggTfMNKJ9sJvMCHROsP6V0e-Enpe5A6EBwP5-JIDi3uX6z1Ogu9GIWzWB1uy6XkM5BGIHbeHNAEVMWzxdrZjkDo0xj0lFQLQtk55HRRmlmOXRYr11e5Qc1GKefQSCRC_-51fdNYPjTIZh41b1WUtt3ebGWl5KskSyR162cOXC5d7S8m--2Q.tcVD_otwexh4Dz7XI59QtSyqXOUEMsSWb7LgHKlQHVU&dib_tag=se&hvadid=694747305333&hvdev=c&hvexpln=67&hvlocphy=9018768&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=12612732689492954759--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=12612732689492954759&hvtargid=kwd-723920016&hydadcr=24657_13626628&keywords=silica+gel+packets&mcid=ddc0f07eeeff3cf69d7051d1f715f4d8&qid=1739908152&sr=8-3

Curado 200M or Tatula 80?
If size of the reel matters to you, the Tat 80 is a much smaller frame and palms way better. It's also an ounce lighter, As MediumMouthBass said, it'll definitely cast lighter lures, but it definitely will work for flippin'/pitchin'.

Gonna be selling some rods soon- Pricing??
Thanks all. Like I said, the majority of the rods are in like-new condition. I think I priced most of them 35% off and more on others. I figured people would haggle as well on Marketplace. So we'll see how it goes. And maybe subconsciously I haven't listed them cheaper than that (yet) because I don't wanna get rid of them. 😅

My Days on the Water May Be Over
Just caught up on the latest posts in here. Thank you all so much. I've read every one of your replies multiple times already. I want you all to know you mean the world to me. I'm definitely trying to stay positive through all this. I lost my mom a few days ago, so I don't think 2025 can get much worse. But I do know I now have an amazing angel looking over me now. Happy V-Day to you all. I love each and every one of you, buuuut....

Gonna be selling some rods soon- Pricing??
Thank you my friend. And it's true, most of the rods you couldn't tell the difference between them and one shipped straight from TW. And I only put the retail price in there for when I post on FB marketplace. Not everyone are fanatics like us here so they don't realize how much some of these rods cost nowadays.

Gonna be selling some rods soon- Pricing??
Hopefully it's ok I post this here. I will be selling some rods soon. I feel like the pricing is quite fair but wanted to get feedback from you guys if you think some are too high/low. I'm hoping to do pickup/meet up so I don't have to ship. These are the casting rods I'm selling. I take great care of my rods (kind of OCD) so most rods are like new. I'm talking no scratches or anything. Perfectly straight blanks and guides. Some older ones might have a few surface scratches by the hook keeper, but nothing crazy. Rods are listed by length. My Days on the Water May Be Over
Oh gosh, you guys and gals are all waaay too kind. I couldn't accept anything like that. It's just not in my nature, even though I appreciate the thought more than words can describe. All of your uplifting words and messages in this thread is plenty!! Absolutely invaluable. I love you all.

My Days on the Water May Be Over
Dang you guys...I knew this place was special but you all are showing just how special it really is. I can't lie, my spirits are pretty dark right now but reading this thread has definitely lifted me up. I honestly can't express enough how much each and every one of you mean to me. I mean it. Love you all, Galen (don't ask...my mom told me once I was named after one of the ape's from the original Planet of the Apes- which there was an ape named Galen on there- but my dad insists I was named after 'Doc' Dr. Galen Adams from Gunsmoke. I always went with my dad's answer)

My Days on the Water May Be Over
Thank you all for the kind words. It brings tears to my eyes reading all your replies. BTW, my name isn't Glenn. I was referring to the big dog here, asking if it were ok for me to post this in this forum.

My Days on the Water May Be Over
Hey guys (Glenn), I hope it's ok for me to post this here in the tackle thread since this is mainly where I've hung out since becoming part of this great community. I contemplated if I should even do this or not, but this place has become like my second family, and I love you all so much. A day doesn't go by where I don't come on here multiple times. Anyways, I found out the other day that I have an advanced form of cancer and that it's incurable. My mind is all over the place right now. One moment I'm at peace with it, then next moment I'm a wreck and cannot believe it. I'm not really even sad for myself...more so for my friends and family who have to go through this now and when I'm gone. I don't know yet how much time I have left. They wanna do further testing for that, and to see if it pays to try treatment to prolong it or not. The thought of never fishing again, or my days on the water being numbered, absolutely tears me apart. It's been my passion like no other. Anyways, I just wanted to share that with you all, my Bass Resource Family. Hopefully I'll be around for a bit yet, so this isn't a goodbye as of now. I love you all.
