  1. Kistler website has their Chromium reels (100 & 200 size) marked down to $88. Regular "$300". Anybody have any experience with these?
  2. For me the 2 main advantages is it makes it harder for the fish to throw it and they seem to always run true. The biggest con, I would think, is they aren't as weedless as traditional spinnerbaits. Especially going over laydowns. With the swinging head, it can roll over some, so it's not aligned with the wire, making it more likely to get caught up on wood, etc.
  3. I agree. I have many of both and they're both great. Also have some 13 Fishing and Lew's. No Urkel's, I mean Abu's, tho.
  4. That's what I'm guessing. I'm hoping they're just being replaced with a new model in that $300 price range. I know they have the new Orochi X10, but that's $400.
  5. I believe there's going to be a price drop to $199.
  6. I'm just going along with the silliness. (tho Abu would get KO'ed in the 1st round) 🙂
  7. Abu Garcia entering the ring of a Shimano vs Daiwa heavyweight fight.
  8. 2 new baits to check out. Picasso's new Titanium spinnerbait. Obviously has the titanium wire, but also a swinging head, which has it's pros and cons. Also got the Toad Thumper Juggernaut Jig. This thing is an absolute beast of a heavy-cover jig. I won't be able to try it out until next year, but I can already tell this is going to be one impressive jig to throw around the gnarly stuff.
  9. Midway has 17 lb/1000 yd Tatsu for $165. It's labeled as "blemished". Knowing Midway, it's likely just some blemish on the box or spool.
  10. 95% of the time I'm reaching for the black. Unless fishing really clear water.
  11. True. Unlesssss you're fishing gin clear water and it's dead calm out. Sometimes a bass with trail a frog and closely inspect it before committing to it. And if they're swimming alongside it, they can see the markings/paint scheme on the side of the frog. Not to mention some frogs sit butt-down in the water. It is nuts how many colors the Bronzeye come in, though. Over 50! SPRO is definitely trying to catch the fishermen as well, that's for sure.
  12. 20% off at CopperState Tackle through Oct. 31. No code needed.
  13. I was expecting you or @TOXIC to chime in.
  14. I got a few of these off FB marketplace to try out for $3/each. The seller has more, but wanted to check them out first before buying more. One has a fine skirt, the other has thicker rubber skirt. Anybody ever use these? I've never fished Yama jigs before. I know they don't make them anymore. Any idea how old they are? The jigs themselves seems good quality, minus the hooks. The hooks are lighter wire, which is fine. But they aren't that sharp, at all, which surprises me a little.
  15. I'm always curious why they don't make this in a 4/0.
  16. Warbaits. Also comes in weedless.
  17. Fleet Farm (in-store and website) have the Cleanup Craw and Bronco Bug on sale for $4.00, reg. $6.50.
  18. When it hits sub-50 degree water here in WI, I'll primarily throw jerkbaits, neds crawled slooowly on the bottom, and blade baits yo-yo'd off the bottom.
  19. If you aren't already, you may wanna get on the mailing list.
  20. I believe ours is similar, depending on the lake/area.
  21. You have every right to eat whatever fish you wish, as long as you're doing it legally. I definitely don't hold it against anybody for exercising their rights.
  22. More TW stuff from the 40% off sale. Never fished the Okuma stuff before, so figured what the hey. They also had a promo where you get free cork knobs with a purchase of the X-Series reel. If I don't care for the round knobs of the Hakai, I may replace them with these (if they fit). The Castaic squarebills are solid baits. And at $2.50 each, even better. I have one lake in particular where bone colored cranks do great. The Keitech Cameron is a great crawfish imitator. You rig it backwards (you can go weightless or nail weight) like the Fat Ika, and it does a nice job gliding away from you. Popping it off the bottom then letting it fall really does look like a swimming crawfish. Of course being Keitech, it's very soft and not too durable. Decided to give the new Z-Man Chattershad trailer a try. Got the smaller 3.5 to rig on the Mini Max. I'm guessing I'll trim the skirt a tad.
