  1. It starts the 31st.
  2. I put this anti-rattle device on a while back, thinking that was the issue. But it turns out that wasn't the problem. https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tightener-Anti-Rattle-Receivers-Heavy-Duty/dp/B01IO2N44E I don't know what it is, but the sound makes me cringe. I know it's not normal.
  3. I have a new caravan trailer that is making an awful creak/clunk noise around the hitch/coupler area. The dealer where I bought the boat looked at everything and said it all seems fine, and that the noise is maybe on my end. Everything is tight on my end (aftermarket hitch), so I'm not sure I believe that. I mentioned to them the the swing tongue has some play in it, horizontally and vertically. They said that's completely normal. Now, I don't think that's what's causing this noise, but is it normal for there to be some slop?
  4. Ya know, I have a bottle of Mend-It, and didn't even think about using it on these.
  5. This is tough. I throw a bunch of stuff that others have mentioned. But if I had to choose one, I'd say my favorite is a Texas-rigged Pit Boss in black/blue. Kind of surprised how little it's been mentioned in here.
  6. So, I've never been one to fish soft body frogs/toads much. Usually just the hollow bodied. But today I figured I'd put to use some Stanley Ribbit's (the 3.5") that have been getting neglected for a few years. The bass (and pike) were all over it. I couldn't burn it fast enough for them. Good times! Anyways, one bait was good for maybe 2 fish. They tore quite easily. I was using a 4/0 EWG hook. Would a screw lock work better on these? Also, how does the Yum Tip Toad compare to the Ribbit? Sound-wise? Durability? Thanks!
  7. I WAS happy with my new boat...until I saw this. This thing is ridiculous.
  8. If I'm paying $500 for a lure it better catch fish on every other cast.
  9. What rod and line are you using? Also, which frog(s)?
  10. Here's the difference between a married man and a single man (me). After reading GReb's post, I'm thinking "so she gets to spend $300, and you get a free $20 coupon, and that's fair? What kind of deal is THAT"? Then Burke, who I'm also assuming must be married, replies with "awesome wife". Pretty sure I'll never be married. ?
  11. YES. I started using them this year (7" version). I get some very aggressive strikes on them (pike lover them too).
  12. Where I fish, most of the bass' forage is bluegill. When bluegill spend a good amount of their time under mats, they turn very dark...almost black. A black frog mimics those bluegills the best IMO. I've been doing very well throwing black in the middle of the day without a cloud in the sky. I like Booyah and Live Target, but don't sleep on the Scum Frog Pro Series. Excellent hookup ratio. And also has a rattle.
  13. Yeah, I found it odd too but then I saw a handful of articles talking about it, so it made me wonder. I'm curious why companies even make sun gear in black then. I suppose for cooler spring/fall days.
  14. We've always been told that the worst color to wear in the sun is black. But after seeing sun/UV clothes in black, it made me wonder. After reading up on it, black may be the coolest color to wear, afterall. Does anybody wear black sun/UV gear? If so, what are your thoughts compared to the other colors? https://io9.gizmodo.com/5903956/the-physics-that-explain-why-you-should-wear-black-this-summer
  15. Yup. Megabass and I thought there were just a few more. Humminbird maybe?
  16. Which brands? There's a lot of brands that won't show you the discount until you go to checkout. For example, for their 4th of July sale the St. Croix rods weren't marked down. Until I put one in my cart and checked out, then it subtracted the difference.
  17. I've thought about trying a steel leader, but didn't wanna mess with the action of the baits. These seems way more subtle. What kind of knot do you use to tie it to your main line? To the lure?
  18. I agree with this...until a Pike or Muskie bites you off. ?
  19. Heck of a beast! Pop Max has some beautiful paint jobs. This one almost looks too cool to throw.
  20. Yup. Starts Aug. 31, 10am CST through Sept. 4 at 7pm CST. I'm assuming 15% off.
  21. American Legacy has a few different Shower Blows 150's on sale for half off. Baby Bass and Black Bone. https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/evergreen-lure-assortment-1-2-off.html
  22. Yup. On TW, the Havoc Pit Boss is $2.99/pack. But now with the Powerbait name attached to it, it jumped to $3.99. The new ones aren't out just yet, though.
  23. One more question. Can you use this on your plastic outboard cover as well?
  24. I do dig the smell of Slick Mist. May spritz a bit on myself next time I take me lady out. How about the plastic windshield on your guys' boats. What do you use on that without scratching the plastic?
