Rain gear...
Use a trash bag there really cheap! ;D No really I hear that the frog toggs are good. A great jacket is the BPS pack lite gore-tex. A good set of gore-tex was one of the hardest things to put up the money for. The first time you really need them and you don't have them. Is the day you will be willing to pay double for them.

I Need jig help
I have a question. I fish a clear deep lake and almost always rocky points. How far away from the boat would you fish a jig? Not swimming it. I fished a tournament last year at Lake Amistad. I was fishing a 1/2 and 3/4 football jigs in 40 foot of water. The water was so clear that I could see the bottom. It was like looking into the fish tank at BPS. I was using a 7'0 MH rod with 17lb Floro. I would make the longest cast I could and feed out line till the jig would hit the bottom. I was dragging the jig behind the boat. I caught 27 1/2lb on that spot and my boater only had one 2 1/2lb fish. What I believe was happening was that he was fishing too close to the boat. I think the trolling motor was spooking the fish. They would circle back around behind the boat and inhale my jig. If the water is clear get the bait away from the boat. The trolling motor, electronics, banging rod lockers, ect. can all have a effect on the fish IMO. I read a artical the other day about casting to docks. The angler said that if your sitting at the dinner table and someone places a nice steak in front of you, you will eat the steak. Now if someone throws a steak though the window and hits the ceilling fan and comes crashing down onto the table you are most likely not doing to eat the steak. It's the same with the way you present a bait to a fish. If the bait is presented in a soft gentle way without a loud clanking manner. The fish is more likely to take the bait. Hope it hepled!! CB

BPS Price Increase
I was over at dicks the other day and they had GYCB senkos and hula grubs. They had some colors on clearance and when I asked what ones were on sale they told me all the GYCB. I walked out of the store with 45 bags of senkos and hula grubs. I couldn't pass it up for less then $3.00 a bag.

BPS Price Increase
I was at BPS the other day and noticed that all the GYCB were increased to $7.99. I checked online today and they were increased online also. I haven't seen a price increase on GYCB website yet. Last year they raised the price from $5.99 to $6.99. I guess it's the end of the year and the new catalogs are about to come out.

Gulp Overated?
I don't use that much gulp. I plan on using more and experimenting with it next year. A friend of mine that guides uses it all the time and loves the stuff. Some elite pro's say if it's a must if your on a smallmouth lake like Lake Erie. I think it has a purpose just like any other bait.
