  1. Does it really matter as long as it's cold! ;D ;D ;D
  2. Spinning Reels: Sol Casting Reels: Sol or Zillion They are the only reels that I will buy now period. There are other companies out the that make great reels. I just prefer Diawa over Shimano and Abu. Both are top shelf companies that put out great products.
  3. 7 foot H Fast Action with 55lb braid will do the trick!!!
  4. I use a St Croix legend 6'6 or 7'0 MH for spinnerbaits and it works great.
  5. I heard it doesn't work that well on tungsten but it can't hurt to try. Powder Paint is like it's name. It is paint that is in a powder form. Used for painting lead such as ballheads, football heads, shakey heads, ect. You heat the lead on the jig. Then dip it into the powder paint. The heat of the lead melts the paint resulting in a painted jig head. You can then place the painted jigs into the oven to cure the finish. This makes the jig so the paint will not chip. If your going to bake your jigs be sure to remove the excess paint out of all the eyelets first. Powder paint comes in a lot of colors and you can even add flake.
  6. I change the hooks on amost all my crankbaits even some high end baits. Just because the bait is a high end bait don't mean that the hooks are. I was fishing a tournament a few weeks back. I tied on a brand new lipless crankbait in practice. The crankbait I was throwing was a $8 bait. Not the very top of the line but by no means cheap. I lost at least 6 fish on the bait with the factory hooks. I switched out the hooks for the tournament and didn't lose a fish the whole event. I did replace the hooks twice during the tournament. If a hook bends or turnsover a point I don't sharpen or use pliers to straighten them out. The bait gets a brand new hook.
  7. Sammy: Aurora Black Staysee: Ghost Minnow and Chart Shad Slender Pointer: Ghost Minnow RC 1.5: Chart Purple Back or Chart Black Back and Ghost Minnow SK DD: Chart Shad Total: $110.00
  8. X2 What are you using the reel for? If your not using it for deep cranks only I would re-think the 5.0:1 gear ratio.
  9. C-rigged works great in sizes 6in and up. Try mojo rigging or split shoting a 4in also. The colors that I use the most are watermelon and green pumpkin.
  10. 3/16
  11. Before being painted all the o-rings are taken off. They must not have been put back on. LC sells the hardware so I would pick some up and they should be good to go.
  12. St Croix Legend Tournament $149.99 Sportsman Warehouse by my house. They have a couple left without the split grips.
  13. I only peg when I'm fishing very heavy cover such as grass or brush and I need to get the bait through without hangups. I prefer the bait unpegged because I think the bait has better action and looks more natrual. A fish has less resistance when they inhale a unpegged bait then a pegged bait which they will hold onto a little longer.
  14. This decision is making my head hurt!!!

Nice job Glenn what are you going to buy?
  16. What jig are you using? I find that I get better hook set when I come straight up.
  17. Fish them around grass when you feel the grass rip them out and the fish will hammer it.
  18. Most tournaments use the golden rule as a standerd board. Mouth closed and fan the tail.
  19. Checked out the "big sale" last week at my local GM. Not impressed. Agree 100% This week at the GM by the house Berkley plastics are buy 3 bags and get 1 free. Not bad but the selection is not great to say the least.
