  1. Green Pumpkin!!!!
  2. What is your view on this line for fishing frogs in heavy grass? I know that it's very strong and has low stretch. I know that braid is probably a better way to go but I'm just not a big fan. I was looking for a other line option for fishing frogs. I was thinking 20lb for frogs and weedless swim baits like a mission fish around grass. Any advice would be helpful!
  3. My #1 jig!!
  4. Seaguar Invizx 8,6, and 4
  5. Fourbizz You never disappoint do you? Nice collection of swimbaits. CB
  6. Maniac Lures hit the market big in Colorado because they made no salt and no scent baits. A couple of years ago the division of wildlife put the rule into effect on a couple smaller bodies of water. I fish a couple of there baits: cutter bug, paddle tail worm, and the drop shot worm (not on web site). The cutter bug I mojo rig. The paddle tail and drop shot worm I nail weight rig wacky and drop shot. I have fished these baits with great success.
  7. Lipless Crankbait (RED CRAW) Lipless Crankbait (CHORME) Lipless Crankbait (CHART.)
  8. You are in big trouble jumping into bass fishing. You said that money was not a huge issue. You better be careful because once the bait monkey gets hold of you and a couple big bar tabs at the Dixie Chicken you will be broke. All you will want to do is fish and you won't go to class. The next thing you know you'll drop out of school and you'll never get to dunk your ring. ;D
  9. St. Croix premier glass crankbait rod PGC70MMF. The best rod for lipless cranks I've found.
  10. Invizx is the only fluorocarbon I use on my spinning gear. Baitcasting I'm not picky seaguar, p-line, XPS, Berkley, ect. As for mono and co-polymers I like floroclear and sensation for spinning tackle. As for baitcasting I use sensation, big game, trilene XL, and cxx.
  11. I use the fto spinnerbait and the fto buzzbait wallets.
  12. Tru-Tungsten smart pegs!
  13. Kanji tungsten drop shot weights 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4oz.
  14. St Croix is my first choice in rods. IMO you would like the LTBS68MXF finesse rod better then the LTBS70MF tube rod. It is a much more versatile rod. I have the 1 tube rod in a legend elite and 3 finesse rods 1 in the legend elite and 2 in the legend tournament. The finesse rods are my work horses when it comes to a spinning rod. The tube rod gets very limited use.
  15. Every angler has a different choice in rod selection for each type of bait. If you go to the St. Croix web site and look at the legend tournament rods they have labeled them. I fish all St. Croix rods and I don't follow there suggestions to the letter. If you have a specific technique you want a rod for I can give you my choice. I can suggest what I feel are the pros and cons with each rod and technique.
  16. I have the rod in a spinning version and it's a great rod. It would be fine in a casting model for shakey heads in lower weights 1/16 - 3/16oz. With the extra fast tip you will get the hook point into the fish. The St. Criox has labled the 68MLXF as a drop shot rod in there legend tournament series.
  17. It is the time of year to find great deals and hear about the deals you were to late for. The other day I was at BPS and the guy behind the counter said that the daiwa fuegos went on sale for $50.00. Not one reel hit the floor before all the employees claimed them all. This is one of the deals that I missed out on. I did get a great deal on some gamma 100% fluorocarbon at $9.00 a spool and lake fork tungsten weights for $1.95 a pack. What are some of the deals you have got or missed out on this year?
  18. One of the best square bill crankbaits on the market. IMO
  19. I will start with the federation: 1. The top 12 anglers out of each state make up each states team. This is done in deferent ways depending on the states format of fielding a state team. Some states may have 1 single tournament or they way run a series of tounaments to field there team. 2. Each states 12 anglers will go on and fish there divisional tournament. Out of the 12 anglers 6 will compete as boater and 6 will compete as non-boaters (boaters and non-boater at divisionals all compete aginst each other and each are intitled to 1/2 of the day on the trolling moter and there choice of fishing locations). There are 6 divisions: eastern, southern, western, central, mid-atlantic, and northern. The top finisher out of each state move on to the BASS federation national tournament championship. 3. The top angler from each state fish the national championship. The top finisher out of each of the 6 divisions earn a berth to the BASS Masters Classic. 4. The top angler out of each of the 6 divisions fish the BASS Masters Classic. The federation is one of the hardest way to make it to the classic. It's over a year long process to make it to the classic though the federation. There are thousands of anglers competing for the 6 spots. I hope it helped a little bit it's just a quick run down on how the federation works.
