  1. I don't know if they'll let you use the jet drive. I help with a high school tour here in Arkansas and we wouldn't. In certain situations it can be an unbelievable advantage. Especially anytime backwaters are involved. Only one way to find out for sure though and that's ask. Good luck
  2. Quite a few from Arkansas. Mark Davis is probably the most famous, Jerry Mckinnis( wasn't born here but definitely an Arkansas), Steven Browning, Cotton Cordell, Larry Nixon, George Cochran, Rayo Breckenridge ( I'm not sure he qualifies as famous.... but he did win a classic.)
  3. I have a 6 year old who really enjoys fishing. I keep it pretty simple. A variety of straight chunk and wind baits with some torpedo and poppers mixed in. He can also drop shot a little as long as he can see the fish under us on the graph. I'll work him into t rigs and all that but his ability to detect a subtle bite right now is debatable. And I'm not really trying to have a whole bunch of fish frys
  4. Reservoir. I can catch em in the dirt on a lipless or spinnerbait right now. Or I can go fish deep and catch em on a variety of baits. Topwater and Alabama rig being my personal favorite. My weather is fairly similar to yours with high 60 water temps.
  5. Man there's a ton of public access national forest in this wonderful state. I don't know a lot about nwa but I know a lot about the west central part of the state. If you ever make it down towards mt ida I could possibly put you on a deer and put you on some bass on lake ouachita.
  6. Wow!!! I don't know what I'd do without being able to catch em either deep cranking or burning a trap. On that note. I don't know about where you are but here the baitfish are beginning to migrate to the backs of creeks and a 1/4-1/2 oz shad colored lipless is very effective.
  7. Do I have to cut a player to add one if both my tight ends are injured?
  8. Biggest one of the day at the local electric only water reservoir. Caught 7-8 most of the damage was done with a baby bass tiny torpedo. Lakes an adventure to get to so don't make it often but is always fun when we do.
  9. I have an okuma evx 6'8" mf topwater jerkbait rod that's really good. Think it runs $100ish
  10. Definitely spoons. Last year there was this massive school of fish in the same spot every day for a month chasing shad every day. They were a different kind of difficult to catch. One day I bought a clear tiny torpedo and gave it a shot. It worked fantastic. So there's a thought.
  11. I don't care either.
  12. Oval rings on walking baits, direct tie on popping baits. Always on mono.
  13. What the man above me said. And me personally would pick the Skeeter over the Phoenix because it's bigger.
  14. Yes I need a hundred different crankbaits. For 2 reasons. The most important of which to me is confidence. Regardless of whether it's true or not I believe I'll catch fish is certain situations on certain cranks more than others. Confidence is a big deal to me. The second is well I have all these tackleboxes with all these holes I need to fill
  15. Made the hour drive north to lake nimrod this morning. Caught somewhere around 30 all but 1 on a trap.
  16. I've read that it should max redline about 6k. The prop is some weird 4 blade stainless that looks like it should go on a 50 hp. I don't know what pitch or width
  17. So I've been looking at this 97 champion 202 with an 06 Honda 225. The prop that on it is not ideal. It'll only run about 54-55 and turn 5200. I know a lot of boat guys and exactly 0 have experience with Honda's. Do any of you guys have any experience or suggestions? Thanks
  18. A new dobyns champion xp 735 and a Denali fission 6'10" m spinning rod. I can't exactly tell y'all how good of a deal I got but I'm super excited about them both. Coming next week..... New reels to complete the combos. My son also got a kastking crixus spinning rod at the cup for $25. Yet to actually use it but it feels like a solid rod for the price
  19. I watched quite a bit of flw live. I also attended the expo and weigh in all 3 days. Weights were real similar to what all the locals were predicting. I will say that they got lucky with the less than ideal weather for pleasure boats on Saturday. Hamilton is a zoo on Saturday's.
  20. My favorite presently are falcons. But part of that is because they're the first mid to high end rod I had experience with. I have a ton of different rods though. Falcon, St Croix, dobyns, Denali, Lew's, shimano. It goes on and on.
  21. I'm pretty sure birge qualified through the Costas last year. I'm not sure about Johnston though. Probably the same if I had to guess.
