I got pretty much what I wanted on black Friday. Kept real close to what I originally wanted. I did get a 7' medium fast Abu Garcia vendetta casting rod. Why??? Because it was $37 at academy. Who turns down stuff at more than half off. It was such a good deal the significant other even said can't really turn it down YAY!!!!! DID I need it??? About as much as as I need a 14 foot ul spinning rod to throw dingers on an a rig. But hey why not

I love my marker buoys. I don't have spot lock but even the people I know that do still use market buoys. My favorite time to deploy them is with a couple glow sticks taped on over a brush pile at night.

The ONE....is surprisingly not the biggest fish I've ever hooked. Was on the little river that runs behind my house down a little at the next pool. Throwing an Arkansas shines colored super fluke on a 6'6 ml Berkley cherrywood with an ole raggedy spider cast spinning reel with 6 lb mono. Cast across to the other bank next to a lay down and it was game time. Never had a chance. Ran a little and then jumped. Had to be 8+. Couldn't believe my eyes and the drag on the ole (retired now) reel let me down and hiccupped on the next run and as quick as it started it was over. Have caught a ton of fish out of this river and only 1 or 2 that were half as big as that one. It's the one I wish I could run again

Maybe a dropshot. Spybaits if the water's clear. Lot of options really. Depends on where you're located, water clarity and a host of other things.

I think they're no more. I've tried looking for them also. You can still purchase some of their stuff but it appears to be what's left not exactly what you want. Which sucks because some of their cheaper reels were great for the price

No worries bout not being able to fish year round in arkansas. It does get miserable cold to fish but still doable if you just get out. Most of the 20+ lb stringers here are caught January through March. I have a small river in my backyard also which helps. So even when I don't wanna take the boat I can always go drag a jig for a while and catch a couple

I have progressive too. I think I pay $45ish a month for a whole bunch of coverage on a 2000 javelin with a 150 Johnson. I'm fairly sure my insurance would replace my cricket cage if I had one and it blew out. Why wouldn't you?

I'm a numbers guy except on tournament day and even then sometimes. Pretty simple theory in it. If I catch 100ish fish a day then 4 to 5 have to be quality fish. Is this always the case? No not at all but it's how I fish.

Why of course it is. It's a body of water that may or may not have fish. Why not fish it? Can't hurt. Me personally, I would pick up a rebel wee craw on a ul spinning setup and hammer down. Does it have wider spots?

The part that really got me is they've been there for a couple weeks. I saw em a while back and thought they were just chasing shad. Went Sunday and they were still there.
