You are gonna have so many choices/options for this fishing situation. I would focus more on the lakes/vegetation/structure around the area you're going to be fishing to determine you're rod needs. Rod length could be anywhere from 6'10-7'6. I normally use a 7'3 Med/Heavy Fast or Heavy Fast Action with 7:3:1 gear ratio.

Using Daiwa reels in 6:3:1

I like trying different brands, sometimes I use them for a few seasons and re-sell some. Then sometimes new stuff comes out and try out other brands/models. What I'm using currently: 2-Powell 2-Kistler 2-FXCustom 1-St Croix

Powell Diesel Crankbait Rod, $89.99. I know it is a cheaper rod but it is a great rod for the price. Respectively lightweight at 3.8oz and good quality built rod, I would recommend this rod to anyone.

I'll tell you the Halo HFX isn't going to impress you or be any better than the Falcon rod you have. I ordered a Halo HFX spinning rod hoping it would be something special, but I was disappointed. It is a nice rod and all but it is a bit heavy in weight compared to other brands. I would go with a Daiwa Tatula before a Halo HFX for price comparison. I used a couple new Powell Diesel rods last year and I'm really impressed with them for the low price. I'm using them for crankbaits & bladed jigs. They also have a new lineup of the Naked series but I don't think I would like the reel seat.

I have this exact Daiwa Tatula CT- CS import model and has plastic type coating on the cork knobs. They don't get dirty at all and have had no issues with mine. I wish I would have purchased more of these reel models, they are one of my favorite reels I own.

I usually do mine each year in the winter. I will say that sometimes if my frogging reel gets slimed up throughout the season I'll do a quick exterior/worm gear cleaning and apply a light coat of grease.

I have 7 of the Tatula CT reels, they are a good solid reel. Only main thing is they can come in a bit on the light side of lubrication overall.

We'll 6-1/2 years ago I had brain surgery with partial tumor removal and went through radiation/chemotherapy. I went to hospital today and had my every 6 month MRI and got my stable report today. So everything is good and go to doctor in the end of January.

I'd probably say main difference is frame size/width/T-Wing and a bit of lighter reel with the Tatula CT. I don't think the T-Wing makes a difference in my opinion. The Team Advantage are a great reel regardless, they do have a higher bearing count than the Tatula CT. But I believe they were only made with 6:3:1 ratio If you like those Team Advantage reels keep a I out for decent used ones and clean them up/serviced and they should do well.

I had a couple of those reels before, they are a good reel back in the days. I would hold out if you really want that exact reel, you can find them on Ebay for around $50-60 from time to time. The Daiwa Tatula CT & Tatula 100-300 series are good reels and can pick them up around $75-125. Tatula CT & Tatula 100-300 series have different cosmetics & slightly differ on some gear ratio versions. I have several of the overseas/import models so they have different finishes that US reels and are a little more expensive. Cosmetics/finishes changed around 2020 on the domestic Tatula CT versions.

Majority I keep around are #4 & #6 trebles for my crankbaits/lipless. I usually buy mine in a 50 pack. I have a few sets of both sizes stored in my tackle bag so I always have them around. Don't forget to get a pair of Texas Tackle Split Ring pliers if you don't have them already.

I did some of my first baits, it is a 3.75 Leech mold. There was a few I made with left over plastic when I made some 6" stick baits a while back. I was pretty happy how the came out.

Cavitron, Strike King, Santone, Picasso Rusty Squeaker in 3/8oz size mostly. Colors: Black W/Red Blade, White, White/Chartreuse, Chartreuse I've tried a couple soft body frogs on a couple buzzbaits, they are hit & miss on the action/rigging on a buzzbaits.

Picked up a new spinning rod.
