  1. Buy 1 rod at regular price, get 1/2 off 2nd rod. Coupon code "SALE" *Of equal or lesser value 8/6/21-8/12/21* https://castawayrods.com/index.php?route=common/home
  2. I have 2 of the Powell Diesel crankbait rods and I have been really happy with mine. I've used them a lot so far this season and I've have fished a large amount of tournaments with them. I use one with crankbaits & the other with bladed jigs. I have to say the build quality of the Powell Diesel rods surprised me at the low price. The only gripe for me is that it doesn't have a Fuji reel seat on the Powell Diesel rods, but I'm getting use to them. I've used Dobyns model rods from the Fury, Sierra to Champion XP and you won't go wrong with them either.
  3. Powell Diesel Casting Rod 7'3" Heavy 734CF I have 2 of the Powell Diesel Crankbait rods and I've been really happy with them. For only $89.99 they are pretty nice rod, only downfall is no warranty. I was impressed for the price and build quality is pretty good also.
  4. Daiwa, Dobyns, Powell, Falcon, ALX I used Dobyns & Falcon warranty which both were quick & easy experience.
  5. I've never tried the Micro guide series, but the 734C is a good overall model to have. I use to have a couple of the Sierra series rods and I was happy with them.
  6. I just rig mine with 2 rubber rings in a x pattern and then put the hook in the body under the o-rings. It works really well for me and they hook up right in the top of the mouth. I will also add that you won't go through as many baits that way.
  7. They are way different action/power between those 2 rods, what are you planning to throw with the rod?
  8. I'm moving up a bit, had my best fantasy outing of the season so far. Hopefully I can keep it going.
  9. Do you have any mono backing on the Tatula CT that has braided line on it? I usually put about 1/2 mono on the spool first. I would probably step up to 40lb if you going to use braid on it. I usually set my brake around 7-10 depending on wind conditions.
  10. Helped run a family auto recycling yard, then I got the news of brain cancer about 5 years ago. So I'm mainly retired due to doctor orders. I fish a few times during the week and repair circuit boards/electronics.
  11. Daiwa 6:3:1 for spinnerbaits/bladed jigs Daiwa 7:3:1 for buzzbaits/topwaters/(sometimes spinnerbait if they want it faster/burned)

I've tried the Glacier Gloves and wasn't impressed. The pair lasted maybe 6 months of use and started falling apart. I have a pair identical to the Kast King gloves(just different brand) and they have held up pretty well, I'll say they were better than the Glacier Gloves for me. I'm gonna try the Riverruns Fishing gloves with camo, they have a nice rubberized grip on them. I'll find out how they workout.
  13. Daiwa Tatula CT & a few SV model reels, a few import models. One lonely Fuego LT spinning reel.
  14. Daiwa Tatula CT and then you'll have money left over.
  15. I've had these for 10+ years and have worked well. I've been using the Medium size.
  16. I have a gas powered power washer with a Honda motor, never have had a issue with it.
  17. Daiwa Tatula, Dobyns Champion XP, Falcon Expert have been my favorite ones I've tried over the last few years that were under $200.00
  18. I just use automotive or painters masking tape. I just apply the masking tape around edges let the U40 dry about 45 minutes and pull the tape.

  20. Try out the Lew's Speed Spool LFS.
  21. Just personal preference, not saying it is a bad rod or anything.
  22. I checked out the Invoker Pro, main thing I disliked about it was the diameter size of the tip guide. It is extremely small compared to any other rods I've owned/used, so I ended up returning it.
  23. I've never had a issue with Daiwa or Shimano reel. I have a older Abu spinning reel that has worked good with no complaints. **Worst reel experience was a Quantum reel, reel didn't last a season of use**
