1. Delaware Valley Tackle or BPS rod and reel might have them.
2. It's kinda funny, my wife grew up here, I'm from east TN. We had our share of tornadoes, but nothing like here. The wife chuckles at me for being so worried, says "You'll get used to it." I'm thinking I won't.
3. Great, the "Storm Prediction Center" just raised us to a High Probability level. Reaches from SE AR to mid MS. Right over the track of last week's tornadoes. There's also a high probability warning for central AR, north MS and SE TN. Time to tie down the lawn furniture. That's per our local weather station.
4. That is excellent customer service! If you're ever in Springfield, go to the outlet store next to the BPS mothership. It's an whole bargain cave store.
5. HA! Good one?
6. Hey @Koz, What is a houseman? I don't believe I've ever heard of one?
7. I bought mine new. The unit was $599.00, the pole was $99.00. I've debated about purchasing another one and pairing them but so far just the one unit is doing the trick.
8. My micro was a lot cheaper than an Ultrex or anything else with spotlock. I'm retired, thankfully under a huge budget constraint (yet) but I do watch what I spend. Plus, I pay cash for everything, zero debt, therefore only dropping $700.00 (micro + pole) was better for me. I rarely fish in water any deeper than 10', most of the time it's less than 8' so my micro works great for me. But, yes other than the noise above and below the water, a t/m with spotlock would probably do the same thing. Can't say 100% as I've never tried it.
9. Doesn't really matter what we think is cheating. As long as the state your fishing in says it's legal, it's legal. Every tournament that I ever fished in clearly stated that using live bait was against the tournament rules so, while legal in the state, it was against the tournament rules. Personally, I don't think that it's cheating at all unless it's done where it is prohibited (see above).
10. I just know that you guys are happy and proud of Gussy, that's all. I'm a huge University of Tennessee Volunteers fan. When ever the Vols won a big game, a lot of my friends congratulate me. Basically, I'm happy for y'all
11. I've got one on my aluminum boat, love it.
12. The vast majority of people agree with your opinion.
13. I didn't realize that there was another tournament organization equal to B.A.S.S. the original major league of bass fishing.
14. Congratulations to Gussy, and all Canadian angler's!
15. I agree with you 100%! Right after I resigned from the BPS I worked at, the General Manager had them removed from that particular store for being overly aggressive. We got more complaints about them than anything else. They were allowed back after a couple of months I think. After that they were on a short leash. When I do get to go in a BPS, I don't even acknowledge their existence. I agree with you 100%! 16. I remember meeting you and him at the B/R 2019 Classic breakfast meeting!
17. All I can really add is the BPS that I worked at (Koday/Sevierville, TN) was great. The store is at the Sevierville/ Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN exit on I-40 so we were always busy with tourists and locals with numerous checkouts open as well as registers in fishing, marine and hunting. I Shopped there for years before I retired and went to work there. I quit around 2016, still shopped there until I moved to SE AR in 2019. Haven't been to that particular store since moving, things may have changed since I've been gone as no one seems to want to work anymore. All of the associates in the fishing dept were very experienced and knowledgeable angler's. I will say that we only had two experienced fly angler's, so we were lacking there. If someone wanted to see Loomis rods, that's where we took them, same with any other brand. If they wanted to see BPS stuff, that's where we took them. Some folks would want to compare BPS rods, side by side with another brand. It was fine with us. We always greeted our customers and asked if we could help, or not help, however they wanted. Things may have changed since I left, but we basically ran the fishing dept like a mom and pop. Maybe we were the exception, normally we finished second only to the Springfield BPS. It's almost three hours to my closet BPS so I order just about everything now, customer service is great and you can actually speak with an American. Since my card was compromised a couple of years ago, I no longer buy anything from TW. Pricing isn't much different than BPS and TW's shipping is terrible. I order from BPS, I have it within three days. I order from a couple of other places or directly from the manufacturer if BPS doesn't have what I want.
18. If the Walmart's in your area have a clearance area, check it out. I purchased around 10 bags in the old packaging for $1.00 each. Five or six in green pumpkin, the rest in a red color. Red shad maybe? From what I've read, yes. Only the packaging changed.
19. Thanks, it's s a good one. I've got to be honest, I grew up bass fishing in east and middle TN. A lot of rock, wood and clear, deep water in some lakes, throw in some docks. Moving to SE Arkansas has been an adventure with all the cypress trees and not as much rock. No joke, actually got lost on one lake that is absolutely full of cypress tree's. They were everywhere and one tree looks like the other! I immediately went home and ordered Garmin electronics with GPS!
20. I see what I did wrong, I used the "thumbnail for forums" link. You flat said to use the "second link". Thank you. Off topic, but I hope you weren't affected by last night weather. Got rough here in SE AR, but nothing like MS.
21. Test I have no earthly idea what I did wrong. Here's one straight from my photos. I don't have a clue what I'm doing.
22. AFTER I made my post, I saw your Android tutorial Ken. I'll give it a shot but like I've told you before, I'm challenged when it comes to technology. Off topic, I live by Henry David Thoreau's "Simplify, simplify, simplify" and "Many men fish all their lives without knowing it's not the fish he is after."
23. I'm pretty good at catching bass, I just don't normally take pictures of them. Of the photos that I have taken, I don't know how to post them, they have to be resized. I'm older (63) and don't care to take the time to learn.
