I held one at a fishing show last weekend, the EVA foam felt nice, very buttoned down design and a much narrower handle than the fury. A little lighter too. Never fished one, I saw 3 casting and 3 spinning models.

My brother in law caught this 40" northern dragging a 1/2oz Dark Sleeper in Shirauo and I caught this Smallmouth doing the same thing 10 minutes earlier on a 1oz Dark Sleeper in Wakasagi. Great baits, mine lasted 1/2 a season cause the rubber on the bottom wore thin from dragging and hopping. I haven't bought more cause I can do the same thing with a finesse swimjig.

Black and blue. Zero confidence in these 2 colours. My buddy loves magenta zoom swimming flukes weightless and Texas rigged. Caught a football sized Smallmouth right beside me.

where's the drool reaction? Is that a Xtasy paired with Tatula SV? The Spring Fishing Show (in Ontario) came and went this past weekend. Didn't get my bonus from work yet, so I was window shopping but grabbed a bag of Z-man Hula Sticks, Keitech Custom Leeches, a couple of Tokyo rigs, and a couple of bags of SK Rage Menaces. I was on SO.com looking for some jigs, under-spins and swimbait heads. I didn't find any under-spins outside of the Owner Flashy, so I asked Mike if he's ever going to produce an under-spin jig and he's got something in the works. I'm pumped.

Feider is doing well but Lee won last year with Ehlers on his tail. All in Group A.

I'm one of them. I've watched a few FLW and BASS tournaments on TV but the channel switched from a fishing only channel to hunting and fishing. I'm going to do some research until Wed, see where it takes me.

what are those called? I was thinking of adding the Duo Realis Spin version to my arsenal but I'd be open to those.

I tried FC (Sunline FC Sniper 18# & Maxima 12# FC leader) after the many glowing reviews and I ended up with more breakoffs than knot failures. I'm still a novice on the water and I may have stressed the line too much but I digress. All my reels, spin or cast, are braid to a leader (when necessary), except my cranking rig which I'm experimenting with YZH as a long leader (40 yards). I use a bloodknot for all my connections, zero confidence in the double uni, alberto etc. PP Maxcurato braid on my baitcasters and I'm experimenting with 12# Sufix Nanobraid on my spinning outfit.

The last of my finesse order came in, and I was taken back at how tiny the Nedz Lockz are. I've been using the power finesse zman shroomz with success, and the gents over at Tacital Bassin keep praising the better keeper and stouter hook. So I bought three packs, and a set of micro Jigs. I've got 3" pit bosses, zipper grubs and a variety of worms and of course the TRDs. Any trailer recommendations? Mini Creature styles? I think the Rage Menace Grub will definitely be an interesting option, same with the keitech spider. Obligatory pic.

My rod came in on Tuesday, a couple of days earlier than expected. First time purchasing a rod online and not getting a chance to feel/inspect it out in store, but I had an idea what I was getting into. The packaging was next level, it came in a thick compressed corrugated tube (no fluting), bubble wrapped in 5 sections with a foam tip protector and plastic wrap. I bought it off Amazon.ca, I could tell Dobyns packaged the rod up from all the shipping labels. This gave me a lot of confidence in buying from Dobyns directly going forward. I wanted to share in case others were hesitant to buy online from Dobyns or Amazon. I'll take pics of the packaging, if anyone is interested.

Amazon, just got YZH 600 yard spool for $15

I just picked up a 600 yard spool on Amazon for $15. I was going to test it as a mainline to get a good handle on the line memory. If it's bad, I'm going back to braid as a mainline and I'll use this as leader material.

More brakes = less to no thumbing Less brakes = thumbing I always thumb it before it hits the water, just force of habit.

Same rules don't necessarily apply. You can still use the same process, but I can set my Tatula to require no thumbing but restricts casting distance. Ideally, you want a small amount of side to side play, start your brakes at 15, move it down as you apply more thumb to the spool. I like to keep it around 4-7 depending on the technique.
