  1. Geez... Man, those are some beauties!
  2. I caught my PB on a Norman Fat Boy, bluegill pattern. Give that a try. 8-)
  3. Raul's been fishing Trilene XT for more than 25 years. A bunch of guys (including Catt?) fish Big Game. Rather than mono, I would suggest a copolymer: Gamma, P-Line CXX or Yo-Zuri Hybrid. All three of these lines significantly exceed their implied breaking strength. For example, P-Line CXX #17 is almost 24 lbs, but seems stronger! I guarantee you will NEVER break P-Line CXX on a hook-set unless there is another issue. 8-)
  4. It seems we have reached a dead end or at least drifted off topic. We'll close with this summary: "Some people prefer spinning gear while others prefer baitcasters. Some of us fish both and prefer one over the other for certain techniques. Use what you like, it will probably work out just fine." Good night Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  5. I think I recognize that guy on the trolling motor. Looks pretty dangerous to me. I think he's still wanted in Texas, may even be a reward offered. 8-)
  6. I'm leaving for the lake this afternoon. Do any of you 'Bama boys know anything about Cedar Creek? Let me know if you do. Thanks! 8-)
  7. I suggest giving Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft a try. I have my Stella 1000FA spooled with #4 (.009" diameter, 8.5 lb test). I also recommend treating all line with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner for even better performance. Regarding Raul's comments, these are simply technical points you can't get around unless you go with braid. Even the #4 Ultra Soft will coil when stored on a reel. This will resolve itself after a few casts, but initially it is still noticeable. 8-)
  8. Maybe Bobby will have the technical answer, but I'm thinking, indefinitely! Even though I use MegaStrike nearly every time I'm out, a tube seems to last forever. I have never noticed any changes in the mixture other than viscosity due to varying temperatures. 8-)
  9. Yep, 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook, weightless & weedless. I fish the Fat Ika just like a Senko, same places, same style. The only difference in the two baits is action and profile. The hook-set is the same as any other soft plastic: When you detect a bite, lower your rod tip and reel down QUICKLY. Set the hook by snapping your wrists without moving the position of your hands relative to your body. Good luck! 8-)
  10. That's a beauty! 8-)
  11. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  12. You are not paying attention... The new formula smells like dead shad, not garlic. 8-)

  14. I'm looking at the smallest "bump" I can get without sacrificing strength. Several knots work just fine, but it seems to me the Blood Knot and Albright create the least disruption in the line flow. 8-)
  15. SWEET! ;D ;D ;D
  16. Nice fish, great pics! 8-)
  17. JJ's Magic has been getting a lot of play here on the Forum, and I'm a fan, too! However, I am also a big fan of MegaStrike Fish Attractant, especially this year's new formula. Bobby says unlike other products that may hold a fish longer once it has committed to the bite, MegaStrike actually improves the bite count. Two examples are (1) short strikes and (2) final commitment. We have all experienced fish slapping a lure or striking hard, but missing. Perhaps a lure treated with MegaStrike encourages more bass to "try it again!" By "final commitment" I mean when everything involved in the presentation is just right, but the fish is still hesitant to attack, MegaStrike may be the final factor that triggers the strike. For those interested in something "other than garlic", this is your answer. I think MegaStrike smells like dead shad, but not overwhelming. Most importantly, MegaStrike is user friendly. This product has the consistancy of Vasoline when the weather is cool. It softens in warm weather, but is still very easy to use: no mess and no waste. I think this product is good for all soft plastics, and recommended for both soft and hard swimbaits. The lubricating aspect is another big plus. A single application is usually all you will need. So, pick up a tube and give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the effectiveness of this product. Using MegaStrike just might put a few more bass in your boat. http://www.megastrike.com/ Good luck! 8-)
  18. Nice fish, congratulations! 8-)
  19. Intrigue... Just makes it that much more exciting! 8-)
  20. Not a chance... Please read FAQs or search "Senko". Good night Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator

The dealers are stuck with a cost that's higher than the Jeeps can be sold for today. When they discount them 2 for 1, the dealers will have to eat the loss. If no one was buying them before the bankruptcy, why would they sell now?
  22. Well, with the recession and all, they're probably eating all those big bass! :-? Just kidding...
  23. Thanks! Corrected. 8-)
