  1. I have two Shimano CTE200GT. These reels are relatively small, but built like a tank! They are as smooth as any other Shimano at higher pricing points. I have one mounted on a G. Loomis GLX MBR844C which I use primarily for weighted soft plastics and jigs. The other is saddled up with a Lamiglas SR705R for deep cranking. 8-)

  6. Well, after visiting their website, reading through the advertising and watching the video...I wouldn't even buy it with some else's money! :-X
  7. Never below the thermocline. Usually on or near stucture or cover. Usually near deeper water (escape). 8-)

  9. Shhh...(4 1/2")...don't tell anyone else.
  10. Well, you'll need to visit the website with the link I provided. There are several pages including "Frequently Asked Questions". I can assure you, from personal experience, this product lives up to its claims...all of them! 8-)
  11. They are more likely to come up to feed in shallow water during low light hours and that's where most guys fish. Therefore, the logical observation based on personal experience is that low light = best fishing. However, many (most) of the biggest fish never visit shallow water except to spawn. That's particularly true, it seems, in California's deep, clear lakes. Ya can't get big if you get caught and kept! 8-)
  12. That's an easy one...BassResource.com highly recommends KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. http://www.lineandlure.com/freshwater/ 8-)
  13. Casting into rock walls, shoreline and dock supports creates random nicks, cuts, splits and chips. Dragging crankbaits along a rocky bottom is very effective for paint modification, too! Otherwise, I don't tweak lures. The Baitmonkey advised me on this. He said, "You want something different, buy something different." That made perfect sense to me.
  14. Maybe is has something to do with maximum light penetration in deep water. Perhaps this stimulates the baitfish and big bass have learned to hunt during that time period. I assure you, I'm not the only one that has observed this phenomenon. Chris Fish makes it a point to be set up on his best spots by 11:30. Raul is another that subscribes to this theory, and there are many more BR members that do, too. 8-)

  22. I don't know whether you saw this or not, but here's one of my favorites: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1189609782 8-)
  23. Welcome aboard! You have been "Home Page" forever and now we meet the man. Wow! "With every trip I collect new mementos, though few are collected in scrapbooks. And all who fish for bass across the land collect them too. They are the images from first light to last and from first fish to last. And we'd share them in a minute. Some recall particular triumphs, often preserved in snapshots and clippings, while others we tend to hide, at least until the time we're ready to laugh about them. Daybreaks, canebrakes, heartbreaks, muggy nights, and foggy mornings. A hundred things that worked, and a thousand more that should have. That's bass fishing." — George Kramer 8-)
  24. Welcome aboard! 8-)
