Well, I'm not challenging any one's "opinion", but we have two professional reel service men on board: Reel Mech and Bantam1. For my money, I'd take their recommendations. p.s. Although Bantam1 only addresses Shimano products, Reel Mech services the "wrong brands", too! 8-)

A lot of guys find it easier with spinning gear. I go either way, but always use spinning equipment at night. 8-)

Well, I was just trying to make the point that even in his heyday, he wasn't really the superstar his ardent fans make him out to be. On the other hand, both Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Nettles are superstars and most importantly, fresh not stale. 8-)

For "very small swimbaits" like a GYCB Swimming Senko or Mattlures Shad, I use either an Avid AVC66MF or Fenwick Techna AV AVS70MM. 8-)

As Raul already noted, the IMX series is the choice for jigs and soft plastics. The Avid is an excellent choice for an "all around" treble hook rod and can handle all medium weight lures. Specific recommendations: IMX MBR844C Avid AVC66MF (Spinning) IMX SJR783S or SJR843S if you want G. Loomis Otherwise, Avid AVS68MXF or AVS70MF 8-)

Man, this choice is worst than the guy formerly know as Prince. Why not someone at the top of their game? I never liked Springsteen, but that's not the point. He's just old news... 8-)
