  1. Well, if you are catching a bunch and you're not sure, they're probably spots. We catch zillions over in this part of the state. I know a lot of people love 'em, but we consider them "trash fish". I have caught a few "nice ones" but it's not much diffent that a good whitey. 8-)
  2. D**n... First post? Shimano Symetre...That's S...H...I...M...A...N...O....Symetre http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_52966_100001002_100000000_100001000_100-1-2 8-)
  3. For me, Low light, ten casts...It's workin' or it ain't. When you move to another spot, same drill. I love the topwater bite, but whenever it's working, jerkbaits are a better option! 8-)
  4. You guys got it goin' on! 8-)
  5. I want to see some fish. You guys "got it goin' on", but let's see what ya got. 8-)
  6. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  7. Nothin' but average... I wish that was my "average". Nice fish! 8-)
  8. How 'bout running out of beer or smokes? :
  9. Hey Bass_Boys, I'm glad you and Brent hooked up, I think the guys will like the new bait. 8-)
  10. I would like to see one, too. I know you guys catch some numbers and I keep hearing about 5, 6 and 7s, but I don't recall seeing one from up there. Post a whopper! I'm already excited. 8-)
  11. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  12. Hmm... Be careful with this guy's advice, he only catches big fish... : 8-)
  13. If it's just me or me and a couple of guys on a short trip, my rods and reels are transported up front, beside the passenger seat. For longer trips where I'm carrying lots of stuff, I use a Flambeau Bazuka Rod Tube: http://www.cabelas.com/link-12/product/0011837010576a.shtml 8-)
  14. This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1143177139 8-)
  15. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  16. Hey Catt! Great read. 8-)
  17. The thinner lines (#4 & #6) are much less visible, but if you are using #15 on a baitcaster I don't think visibility is an issue, particularly with "moving" lures. :
  18. Just because you have a "relatively new" reel doesn't mean it was lubricated properly. I would send it to David Green for a cleaning and lube. If something is wrong with the reel, he can fix it for you. http://www.reelmechanic.com/ 8-)
  19. Nope. We (I) do the best we can and save 99% of the fish we catch, big or small. As much as we sometimes hate to admit it, fishing is still a "blood sport". I'm glad you kept the fish and gave it to someone who will appreciate the gesture.
  20. Now, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! 8-)
  21. Improvements as we grow...
  22. Super Slow Action. The blank bends evenly throughout the length of the rod. Think: Ugly Stick. 8-)
  23. Welcome aboard! Look through this section, there is some professional advice. 8-)
  24. As a general rule, drags are set at 25-30% of the line's breaking strength as long as that is within the suggested guidelines of the rod. Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 = 11.9 lb test X .25 ~ 3 lbs #12 = 19.5 lb test X .25 ~ 5 lbs, but I think you will find this to be more stress than you like on your rod. 4 lbs is about it for me, regardless of the line strength. 8-)
