  2. Wow! I hope things take a turn for the better this weekend.
  3. A nice fish can be a pig, but a great fish is a Hawg! Generally, I like to refer to them as "Fat Girls" 8-)

DUDE! Remembering birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions (like Christmas and Easter) is NOT YOUR JOB. That's why God created florists! 8-) Anyhow, good recovery. If that ball had hit the ground...GAME OVER.
  6. I'm kinda stuck on the jig & pig these days, but I still recommend: #1 GYCB Fat Ika #2 GYCB Senko #3 Micro Munch Tackle El Gordo tube
  7. Delo's is promoting the sale AND the rebate. I think Shimano will honor all sales. http://www.deloscustomtackleshack.com/reels/shimanocitaca.html
  8. Hey Davis! Now you can see why retailers have such a wide selection of lines. Everyone it seems has different tastes. Try several brands and different lines within the brand names, most of us have over the years. As I have already stated, I have a strong preference for Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft, but I continue to experiment! This year (2007): Gamma (fluoro and copolymer), Triple Fish and Magnathin to name a few. Right now I'm back to orginal formula Yo-Zuri #15 on baitcasting equipment. Another experiment!
  9. Regardless of the "rating", Fast Action rods have different degrees of "firmness". I recently purchased the St. Croix Legend Elite EC70MHF. Although the tip is "firm" it is not as stiff as my G.Loomis GLX MBR844C. So, my only point is that it is hard to answer specifically, but as a general rule I like a VERY firm tip for fishing jigs. My LE is okay, but I like the stiff tip of my Heavy Power/ Fast Action MBR better. (I bought the St. Croix as my spinnerbait/ small swimbait rod).
  10. Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft is not affected by cold weather or water. I recommend #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) for spinning tackle.
  11. Too cool! 8-)
  12. WOW! Great story. GREAT fish. OUTSTANDING PIC! 8-)

So, I'm ACTUALLY onboard with Long Mike, his advice will prove helpful in other endeavors. However, on this Forum, we do not enforce a particular code. Proper English is preferred, but YOUR language is tolerated as long as it is not vulgar or offensive.
  17. You got it all going on. Great stuff. Good luck! 8-)
  18. Well, the Alabama boys can respond specifically, but it's just the standard stuff: Life jackets, throw floatation, fire extinquisher, registration and of course, fishing licenses. The lake is a a part of the TVA water system and is a commercial river. Coast Guard, TVA, Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources have jurisdictation. Plus, local Sheriff's Department and State Highway Patrol. So, as always, obey the law and these guys are on our side!
  19. ;D ;D Woo-Hoo ;D ;D Look who's back!

  21. If you could fish a day with Fred McClintock, that would put you miles ahead of most of the competition: http://www.trophyguideservice.com/
