  1. Well, either will work, but what you really want is Moderate Action for all treble hook lures: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546
  2. The Force Be With You Bananna Breath is a part of many posts. He disguises himself under many names, but takes credit for all.
  3. Really? I see a lot of people fishing live bait and catching little bitty fish, but I do know a few guys that catch some pretty good ones on live bait. <------------------------------------ :

  5. That's actually too much line. You know, I fish spinning tackle a lot and change my line when needed, but I don't go through more than 1000 yards a year, probably not nearly that much. One pound of #6 must be at least 5000 yards. Even though I don't think Yo-Zuri gets old, five or six years worth of line is just too much.

  7. Well, the thicker line will not cast quite as far, but you may not even notice the difference! I'm mainly experimenting with #15 Hybrid because I got a great deal and fishing it might result in recovering more jigs. However, if it turns out that I get fewer bites, the line is outta-here. #8 will be fine for you IF you don't backlash much. When you do, check for kinks. These are weak spots and you MUST replace the line. I "add" line or replace it at about 60 yards or so, you really don't need to replace the entire spool (you will probably never fish 50% of the line).
  8. Probably. I fish ponds in the winter, but it's not generally "cold" in Tennessee. Winter is my best season for smallmouth (in a boat), but fishing big water from shore has NEVER been productive for me this time of year.
  9. I don't know, mine work okaandut I think they were cheap. What I have found to be an easier solution is cutting the old split rings and using new ones. The hook is easy to rig and attaching the ring is simple. Split rings are inexpensive and you eliminate about 90% of the hassle.
  10. Ask God to turn the wind off. Don't run your boat. Eliminate repetative casts. Use lures that weigh at least 4 ounces. Thicker line will help, too. Like 25/200. Or... Spool up some Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft which fishes like braid without the issues!
  11. Cooking and flower gardening.
  12. I ordered mine on the 14th and received it yesterday.
  13. Redlinerobert has a Chronarch on the "Flea Market" for $185, maybe he would take $170. Anyhow, be patient and keep your eye on that section of the Forum, there are some GREAT deals there quite often. Otherwise, the JDM Scorpion would be an excellent choice! (I also like the Curado CU100D).
  14. #12 is 19.5, #15 is 21.5 (Ultra Soft is slightly less) http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdLine/HybridLineChart.htm I recently bought a 1 lb spool of #15 to experiment with. My thought is that thicker line is less likely to backlash, will not be as subject to kinks when it does and might be worth the extra strength in some situations (hanging a jig or lure!). We'll see. I have two baitcasters rigged with #12 Ultra Soft, two with #15 original formula Hybrid and one with original #8.
  15. Hijacking a Shimano thread? You should be shot! 8-)
  16. Regarding buoys: Red warn of danger (shallow water). Green buoys mark the channel. When motoring downstream, stay to the left (buoys to starboard); moving upstream, green buoys to port.
  17. ;D ;D ;D OUTSTANDING! ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  18. Have the reel replaced or get it fixed. The Symetre is one of the finest reels in the Shimano line-up. It is THE BEST reel at its pricing point.
  19. It could have gone into "Outings."
  20. I NEVER downsize. Go BIG or go home. 8-)
  21. Buy some MegaStrike.
  22. Classy & trashy at the same time! That's not an easy act to pull off, but she seems to be doing just fine. http://people.uleth.ca/~ross/songs/Trashy%20Women%20.txt :
  23. If you have bucket seats you can probably transport your rod inside the car/ truck with the rod butt on the passenger-side floorboard, the tip to the back. Otherwise, you are going to need a tube and secure it in the bed or to the roof.
