I have a couple of rigs with fluorocarbon mainline and two others with monofilament (technique specific). After a couple of years of "experimenting", I am leaning towards almost everything braid based with a leader, especially on spinning tackle. Tied PERFECTLY, the Alberto Knot is fail safe.

C'mon... That ain't hip. Fluorocarbon is the next "New Thing. p.s. When are we going fishing again?

Hmm... Your method seems quite unique to me...and VERY dangerous for the fish.

Well, here's another suggestion: If you think you need a weight fish the Rage Tail Cut-R (rigged tail down). The Cut-R looks like a Senko with a tail This bait works best for me slow rolled just off the bottom. I use a tungsten bullet weight, 1/4 or 3/8 oz.

More generally the bite on a soft plastic is tap-tap. And here's my tip: Loose the weight, the action of a Senko is best when fished weightless.

Have not had a single bite on three outings there, but I can tell you there are some MONSTERS in that water!
